Re: Ben Mee
It was a very poor decision from the linesman, but I'm not sure its the best decision in the world from Ben Mee either. Every now and again, Mee's commitment and desire to win every ball and deal with every possible danger (which is one of his greatest strengths) means he does something just a bit clumsy and last-ditch. It isn't the first time this season that it has cost us (Hull at home is another example off the top of my head) and it is something that Mee needs to eradicate.
That said, he's still one of our most important players and I wouldn't swap him or drop him. He epitomises what we're about and we need that ethic at the heart of our team.

Re: Ben Mee
He's absolutely superb. Keyboard warriors demanding be be dropped reminds me why I had a two year sabbatical from this board. For every alleged mistake he makes, he makes 10-20 critical interceptions / tackles. He is already a Claret legend. Thank God Sean Dyche picks the team and not this board.

Who was marking the centre forward in the first half , he had a free header on the six yard line and should have scored ?Diesel wrote:Faultless today.

Re: Ben Mee
Any mistake by anyone is seized upon to demonstrate why we should sign a world beater to replace them!

Re: Ben Mee
Best English centre half in the country at present - nobody better.
We also have the 2nd best in the Country in Keane
That's how high I rate Ben Mee.

Ben Mee is one of the reasons we will stay up.
He would risk serious injury to stop a goal at 3-0 down.
His spirit is immense and with Joey there too we have loads of leaders out there.
It is about skill but focus and attitude count too.

Re: Ben Mee
Anyone criticising Ben Mee needs to remember what we're about. Effort & commitment....and he is the epitome of that.

Re: Ben Mee
"Spare man" is a bit of a misnomer. Ben Mee was way out of position for the cross, hence why Keane was marking the "space" to stop the attacker running into it and having an even easier header from what would have been a much easier cross. Darikwa's positioning didn't help either. He was too far away and should have come around quicker to cover for Mee being out of position.Diesel wrote:He was Keanes man all afternoon, Ben was the spare man today.

Yes, Mee gives 100% every game, and I would never question his attitude, but he could certainly improve his defending. It's all well and good pointing out his numerous interceptions and last gasp tackles etc, but often the players who are making those interceptions and tackles on the stretch are the ones having to make up for their original errors.
I don't for one minute think he should be dropped, but I think people are kidding themselves if they think he is flawless most games.

Re: Ben Mee
None of our players are flawless. If they were (and no player on the planet is) they wouldn't be playing for Burnley. For me Ben is a steady 7 or 8 out of 10 every week & we can't ask for anything more than that!

Ben Mee is a damn fine player that seems to think he is not above us.
I think it is unlikely he will move to anywhere else because he isn't quite tall enough, isn't quite quick enough, isn't quite good enough on the ball, isn't quite good enough at passing. However he is a damn fine layer for us.

He is such a liability! Get him out of the team ASAP.
Can't get over how many points he has cost us this season.

Possibly could have used the quote feature Boatshed... Looks like you are saying the same as the OP as opposed to simply questioning his allegiance.

Re: Ben Mee
HONESTLY don`t think that would have been allowed to happen today if Mee had been in the side (shouldn`t have been necessary of course).
