It got a fair bit of coverage when it happened. I'm not sure how normal such emails are. The fact that it became a story suggested that we weren't doing things right at the time.HendricksHair wrote:Honestly never seen that before, ridiculous if was true. Glad we got rid!!

Nice footnote about the ' only bit of business was signing Michael Keane permanently from Manchester United'.

Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
I think what folk might not be considering if they are assuming Brady is going to be primary lb cover is also that if we have to move him back there, that we are are then having to open the door to one of Boyd or Arfield, which is not ideal, if we are assuming that Brady and JBG would be the first picks when fit.
I'm not slating either Boyd or Arfield but clearly the point is to bring in replacements of a higher quality as per the natural progression of the team. If we're shunting these supposedly superior replacements about then it's not an ideal scenario.
Also, as someone pointed out, we (arguably) play with inverted wingers more often than we don't play with inverted wingers so you have to be reasonably confident he's going to be popping up at RM here and there.
Robertson makes sense not just for these reasons, but others as well - Ward will be 32 in August for example - how long can he keep his great form up? Could we get a similarly talented young lb for much less? Should be taking advantage of a relegation rival?

Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
Dyche quote on SSN along the lines that we are not just buying for now, but for the future of the club
Great respect to Ward and Boyd but a future left sided pairing of Robertson and Brady is something we could only dream about at the start of this season
Add Gosling loan, and the end to a great month

Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
Obviously a talented player but I have 2 reservations (which I could put down to his age) that are of concern. He's very rash in his tackles on too many occasions and he argues with referees far too quickly, seems a bit of a hot head. I'm sure Dyche could stop him from doing the later but the first I'm not so sure. I still hope we get him though !
edit: just been on a few Hull forums, seems they think he is very good going forward but "horrendous" at defending.......

Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
On SSN just now - Hull adamant nobody will be leaving unless replacements come in first - they are hoping to sign 3-4 players before window closes
Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
Obviously that's the date on the sky report, Lee Darnborough worked for us then and was the one sending the emails, he no longer works for us and works for Norwich (I believe).dpinsussex wrote:Date of sky report 5th feb 2015

Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
No we had agreed a fee with Hull, I presume by Nixon saying ''agreed a deal'' it means we've also agreed terms with the player to join us. I doubt Snodgrass ever met with us to discuss terms tbhjoey13 wrote:Hadn't we agreed a deal for Snodgrass, means nothing

He does, so we are now in his hands again, waiting for him to pull his finger out and get a left back signed so we can get Brady.KRBFC wrote:Obviously that's the date on the sky report, Lee Darnborough worked for us then and was the one sending the emails, he no longer works for us and works for Norwich (I believe).

So all this really means (and you could apply it to all of our enquiries in this window) is that the club in question accepts our valuation.claretandy wrote:Nixon just tweeted deal agreed for Robertson but wont be announce till hull sign a replacement !
The selling club will only sell if they can sign a replacement.
We still have personal terms to agree.
And there's the medical too!
Not even close, is it?

Apparently Hull expect to make up to 5 signings tomorrow - might cry if one of them isn't a left-back.

If Hull are willing to let him go to replace with AN Other: We should be going after AN Other.

I don't know much about this lad. Is he a better option than Charlie Taylor (Leeds) would have been? (If we were ever after Taylor that is)?
