Not sure a transfer request at this late stage will help matters.
If Hull won't sell, then they won't sell

Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
why does this always happen to us?

Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
Would've been a great signing but Ward is doing a great job for us.

@HullCity
“Andy Robertson is not leaving, he is our player. He is important for us and he is preparing to play tomorrow night.”
This one isn't too bad, because Ward is fine playing left back.

Ward us 32. We need another left back.

LB is definitely not a priority now with Ward's excellent form

Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
We were probably too late to the Hull sale. Silva been pushing back big time on any more 1st team sales and probably dragged his heels on targeting for a replacement.
One for the summer when they're down though I expect we'll have a lot more competition for his signature.

Ward is the POTY for me.
I'd give him another 2/3 year deal.

It will be if he breaks his leg again. Why has it taken until now to register an interest in Robertson. So frustrating

Not looking likely this one, Hull can't get a replacement in.

I very much doubt any signing will replace Ward unless he has 2 or 3 howlers. He has been one of our most consistent performers this season without ANY doubt.

VERY difficult to argue with this sentiment. Ward encapsulates everything good about this team.MACCA wrote:Ward is the POTY for me.

Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
For all those going on about Ward, the Robertson deal was all about the longer term - he's approx 9 years younger than Ward, it would have been an exceptional signing for us. I'll break it gently - the likes of Ward, Boyd, Barton, Kightly, Marney aren't going to be around ever. If we have the realistic chance of upgrading with younger players we should take it, simple as that.

Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
Jenkinson is available at Arsenal, good attacking right back.
Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
But @ClaretsLongside said Robertson was "90% done". I'm confused.
Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
I think people are aware of that. In the short term though Ward is doing well and survival this season is vital. The future will take care of itself. This isn't the last ever transfer window.SkiptonClaret wrote:For all those going on about Ward, the Robertson deal was all about the longer term - he's approx 9 years younger than Ward, it would have been an exceptional signing for us. Realise that, obviously, but if there's a realistic chance to improve with younger players then we should be looking to take it and it looks like, in this instance, we were looking to do just that.Pearcey wrote:I think people are aware of that. We have a few areas on the pitch where we will be short if somebody breaks their a leg. Up front being the major one along with centre mid.gandhisflipflop wrote:It will be if he breaks his leg again. Why has it taken until now to register an interest in Robertson. So frustrating
Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
It was definitely a bold move and the sort of player we should be looking at. Let's hope the future is Bright.

Could be mind games from Silva to deflect some of the criticism if Robertson now try's to force a move.
Nixon suggested early on today that Robertson isn't happy at delays.

Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
If one of Robertson and Brady doesn't come off then at least the club have done what many have been asking and identified more than one target for an area of the pitch. Brady and Robertson can both play wide left and both play left back. One would be brilliant both would be sensational. But we will have cover for Ward either way providing we get one of them in.
Reason for the Robertson deal collapsing.....
Now scrape that pan Sean and start again!

I can't see the manager having been as adamant as he has done to then see the player leave, won't happen. Sadly.arise_sir_charge wrote:Could be mind games from Silva to deflect some of the criticism if Robertson now try's to force a move.

And if, like I suspect, neither sign, we'll have to go for 3 players in each position in the summerRocketLawnChair wrote:If one of Robertson and Brady doesn't come off then at least the club have done what many have been asking and identified more than one target for an area of the pitch. Lets be honest. Hull have been doing a right firesale and if he condones that without some fight he will be given a bit of a kicking by fans.
If ee do get him (by some miracle last minute deal) he can tberefore say it was out of his hands.
And also gives him some wriggle room if the Hull hotseat starts to look uncomfortable.

They have also accepted a £10m offer from Burnley for full back Andrew Robertson , but Telegraph Sport has been informed the Scotland international is not overly keen on linking up with Sean Dyche in Lancashire and could remain at Hull.

Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
A couple of sales is hardly a firesale. Plus they've brought in about 5 already, with potentially more to come. I think they're actually having a decent window. They aren't down and out like some are suggesting.BabylonClaret wrote:Lets be honest. Re: Robertson - £10m bid accepted - SPECULATION
Clearly a battle of wills going on at Hull, so I don't read this statement as being the knock out blow some seem to.
The manager won't have ever wanted Robertson to leave, so someone else must have been working with Burnley on the deal.
What the manager says is only one element of the picture. He may be trying to force his owners' hands by making that statement, and he might yet succeed, but I doubt its truly his decision to make.

we do still have Mee to cover LB in emergencies - Ward has been excellent this season and it would have been hard to drop him if Robertson did sign
