Last night Hendrick was fouled and we were awarded a free kick. After he had received a bit of treatment he then had to leave the field and the free kick was taken whilst we were down to ten men. Once the ball was cleared he was waved back on.
Surely this is just penalising the team who have been offended against. Why can't the ref allow him back on field before the free kick?
The injury rule?
Re: The injury rule?
They can remain on the field after treatment if the player who commuted the foul is cautioned ( rule brought in this year I think ), although I've not seen it used at the Turf a few times this season.

Re: The injury rule?
Perhaps the players shouldn't be such tarts and pretend they are injured all the time. Man up and get on with it!!!!

Got sent this a while ago off a rugby lad.
Some it up in my opinion, and the thing that let's our game down.

Re: The injury rule?
Exactly!
Re: The injury rule?
The player that committed the foul/caused the injury should have to leave the field as well. Both players then waved back on by the ref which would keep numbers equal. Could be interesting if the goalie caused the injury.
