First serious shoot with new camera, I must say I am quite pleased. The lens may have to go though, nothing wrong with it but it's getting a bit much for this OAP to carry. Tripped on Monday and being a bit top heavy with the weight of my back pack, finished up face down in a foot of freezing mud and couldn't get up unaided. Good job I wasn't alone.

All subjects wild and free. Taken in Scotland on Monday.

The reason I asked is that my lad was on the shinkensen to Tokyo on the 13th and I have a photo of mount Fuji that he took.
I've shrunk it and attached a copy, not as a photo submission to the thread but to show what to me is a remarkable coincidence - two Clarets in Japan, on the bullet train to Tokyo, taking a piccy from more or less the same spot, (note the viaduct), within a couple of days of each other!
Or perhaps Japan is overrun with Clarets?

I thought I saw something in the sky last night. Said it was too bright and slow for an areoplane but too fast for a star! Unless the ISS looks quicker in the sky than a plane anyway, in which case it was a UFO!

Fog surrounding the unfinished Deansgate Square development on Owen Street, Manchester.

When visiting the Christmas Markets in 2015, I remember parking on the Owen Street NCP right where these towers now stand. The contractors Renaker were still towing cars off the site when they broke ground in 2016.
