Five points will be great and I see no reason why we can't get them.

It doesn't really matter who they come against but on the basis I think Heaton, Keane, Mee, Ward, Hendrick, Brady, Defour, Barton, Gray would walk into the teams at Sunderland, Swansea and Hull we could get points against them all. I bet some of them would fancy Barnes, Vokes,JBG, Lowton etc too.

It's all down to us now and that's a massive credit to the manager and our team.

I'd snatch your hand off for 3 points from the 5, but its going to place enormous pressure on us getting 2 from 3 wins against Stoke, WBA and West Ham.

As an aside, I looked at Sunderland's recent form and noted that a few weeks ago they won 3 out of 4 matches. Seems they have a brief upturn, then go on a losing run.

I'd suggest 4. We surely must break our away day duck at some point and maybe even get an away draw too. Against Chelsea we'll get nothing unfortunately as they're streets ahead of anything else in the PL this season, including the other big boys who we've actually run close.

How many sides, if any, have not been relegated without winning away all season?

This came up on here the other week and from memory I think Leeds and Coventry both stayed up in different seasons without winning away, but Leeds did draw 6? I think. Fulham hadn't won away all season and had to win their final game to stay up. It was away and they won it!!

If you get caught speeding on the way to the match it will guarantee at least 3 points :)

I think we will win away this season but even if we don't, I'd still back us to stay up.

I expect defeats against Chelsea, Hull and Liverpool, but draws at Swansea and Sunderland and at home to Spurs. Having said that we are due an away win and hopefully Spurs will go the same way as Everton and Liverpool.

In my opinion, we need 36 points to guarantee safety (tight but OK). That should NOT be our mindset though. Points predictions are almost impossible in the Premier League, unlike the Championship. However, I will go for...

Chelsea (h) 1
Hull (a) 1
Swansea (a) 3
Liverpool (a...if played) 0
Sunderland (a) 0
Spurs (h) 1

6 there, making 35.

10 more points will follow so in total 45pts, 13th position and all good in the world. I`m a glass half-empty kind of person too!

Rather a pessimistic set of predictions, considering our home form. I just can't see us getting anything against Chelsea or Spurs.

The away games have landed when all three are improving (particularly Hull and Swansea) they are fighting for their lives and our away form is dire (or perhaps more accurately, our away points tally).

I too have a terrible prediction record so I royally hope that this post is rammed down my throats in a few weeks time.

Another five games down and 30 points and it would start to look a tad concerning.

how is it ridiculous to predict a side (who haven't won an away game all season) to struggle to win an away game now? the two home games are against the best side in the division who have lost 1 game in god knows how long, the other is against the only side to beat Chelsea in ages. Right now, Spurs and Chelsea are probably the best two sides in this division, it's a tough ask to get anything from the two home games and lets be honest, highly unlikely.

Are Spurs really playing that well at the moment?

In their last away game Spurs only drew 0-0 with Sunderland whose defence, let's be fair, is currently far inferior to ours, and yet you expect them to comfortably beat us. Prior to that they struggled to beat Wycombe at home and more recently only scraped past Boro 1-0.

And because of our fantastic home form we no longer have any must wins away.

Yeah you're right, Spurs are terrible.
2nd in the league, best defensive record in the league.

I haven't said they are terrible, just their recent results suggest they are not in top form.

0-0 v Sunderland and 1-0 v Boro, along with a very lucky escape v Wycombe is a long way off being one of the form teams in recent weeks.

At the time, Liverpool weren't in the calculations due to our forthcoming win against Lincoln! ;)

I predicted 3 points and we so far have 2 points with 2 to go. So going off that, we'll pick up another point from the next 2 games. A draw away to Sunderland and a loss at home to Spurs it is then!

Thought we'd get;

Chelsea 0
Hull 1
Swansea 0
L'pool 0
Sunlan 3

So, we're already 1 point better off than I thought we'd be with 2 games to go

Think we'll get 4 draws in the next 4 matches after that (assuming we still play Man U) with us only losing to Everton.

38 points after the Man U game, for me, and almost certain safety with 4 games to go. Where's CaernarfonClaret when you need his fake negativity to counter my commentators curse posting?
