is spoortsmania worth it? I have an Android box that is great for TV and Movies, but awful for Burnley matches. Might get half a game at less than standard definition.

Absolutely zero chance of gettin caught. Their server is in somwhere stupid like nigeria. The liklihood of being linked to a subscription is slim to none. Ive been using SM 3 yearsElectroClaret wrote:They're cracking down on it Ian.

Covered this a little in the VPN thread yesterday. Your ISP knows every server you connect to because they're the ones who do it.cutsy123 wrote:Absolutely zero chance of gettin caught. Isn't it only illegal for the company or persons to provide the service and not to stream it? The same argument was made when Napster users were taken to court by PRS and set a precedent if i recall.

Napster sited fair use as one of their main defenses, but that was for P2P sharing as opposed to streaming.Foshiznik wrote:Isn't it only illegal for the company or persons to provide the service and not to stream it? The person who creates a stream/hosts from a legitimate source is creating an unauthorized public performance. Other sites will then show that stream and there in lies the grey area as linking is a fundamental part of the internet and not in of itself illegal.
Most will actually respond to DMCA take down requests but that a bit like playing wack-a-mole.

Is your ISP gonna leak your confidential browsing history?
I'd hope not.
I'd hope not.

Yep I have - got it a couple of weeks ago.Pearcey wrote:Has anyone got sportsnation? Can't get sportsmania at the mo.
Its exactly the same as sports mania - they just have 2 servers they use now. There was a thread on here explaining why.
The quality is great - much better than I anticipated. No buffering or freezing at all.
I paid £17 for a 3 month subscription after trailing it for £4 for one day to make sure it was as good as everybody said (though I should have paid £6 and got it for the week or month...can`t remember exactly)
On the previous thread Claretdom (i think) put on a useful link with the instructions.

Your ISP won't but now the Government requires ISP hold 12 month of browsing history somewhere on a server a 3rd party is going to hack and dumb a large amount on the internet, It's inevitable.minnieclaret wrote:Is your ISP gonna leak your confidential browsing history?

Even Apple or Google with their huge financial and technical resources can't stop a determined group of hackers, I don't trust TalkTalk are any better at security.

Everything! Ive seen every Burnley match this season, plus F1, plus boxing, plus speedway plus darts.....
When you watch it, as long as you have a good internet speed, it will be like watching normal tv. Occasionally it freezes up, but usually i just have to go back one screen and select the match again if this happens.

Why have you got 3 memberships? As long as it's coming from the same IP, you can use 1 subscription as many times as you want on the same WiFi. Ok, so I've signed up to Sports Nation for 3 months, and just watched the first half of the Man Utd - St Etteine game (via kodi on my firestick) in the best quality stream I've probably ever had with zero buffering. So far so good!

This may have already been covered but do you need a vpn for sportsmania?
I actually have a vpn network but stopped using it because it was to slow for streaming.

You can only use 1 subscription per device at any one time. They catch on and ban u for life. Ive had mates whov been banned within days of using the same log in on 2 or 3 tvscriminalclaret wrote:Why have you got 3 memberships? Not worth it for the price u pay

As long as ur registered u can renew wenever. Even before it expires.
Re: Very Happy with Sportsmania & FireTV
Technically it's not illegal to watch (at the moment, post-Brexit there's a chance that will change). This isn't the case for all kodi add-ins, those that use peer to peer which is a fair chunk, are illegal. The issue is it's not clear which is which so use them at your own risk.
Re: Very Happy with Sportsmania & FireTV
I wondered about that too. However, the quality is VERY good and there is a section where past matches are readily available in full. watched Burnley V Chelsea a couple of times since watching it live at the Turf!Sutton-Claret wrote:I would love to get rid of Sky, however I would just miss the reliability of it and the ability to record etc
I also get BBC Scotland, which is a bonus! (I have the hots for Jackie Bird!)
Question which has just popped into my head - can I get Claretplayer on my Firebox?

For those who subscribe to CP there is a downloadable app (link below) so you can listen/view it through Android Boxes.

Re: Very Happy with Sportsmania & FireTV
I have a fire stick and I'm thinking of upgrading to the box so I have a question for the techies.. is it easy to install Kodi yourself? Once I have that I can easily install Exodus and Sportsmania which is all I'd need. It's £80 for the box without Kodi so I'm wondering if I can save myself £30 by putting kodi on myself.

Re: Very Happy with Sportsmania & FireTV
You can easily save yourself 30 quid by installing kodi - there are loads of video tutorials (eg via youtube) out there. One below is an example. If you can already install Exodus & Sportsmania yourself then you shouldn't have an issue with Kodi installation. Good luck!Fretters wrote:I have a fire stick and I'm thinking of upgrading to the box so I have a question for the techies.. is it easy to install Kodi yourself? Well at least we might see reasonable prices again. Until then, people will find ways to bypass having to watch football shows with Michael Owen and Robbie Savage as experts, when there are cheaper alternatives.
