Re: Coyle gone
Another ex-Burnley manager is clearly the only way forward for them
Coyles not that daft
Folk asked me what I thought when The unscrupulous Cyle went to Evilwood.
I said where else could he get two or three years brass for 6 months work.
That is how it panned out with Judas getting his bags of silver well before Easter this year.
Venkys have excelled themselves paying more to pay Judas and his three talentless henchman off than they spent on players all season.
Once again the only winner is the man who undoubtedly will have " died by mutual consent" put on his tombstone

Unfortunately though, I suspect that Cotterill will probably do a decent job there. He will tighten them up at the back, and probably secure just enough points to keep them up.Lancasterclaret wrote:Another ex-Burnley manager is clearly the only way forward for them
He then has a good record at building a squad on a shoestring budget.
I'm just hoping that the Venkys make another disastrous appointment, but the law of averages says that they are bound to get something right eventually, even if by accident.

Re: Coyles not that daft
He was understood to be on £2,000 a week.. Making it very clear why he appealed to venkys over Warnock.

2 grand a week for another 9 months isn't too bad considering what he will be on after this.....

Re: Coyle gone
At this difficult time, it's comforting to think that a sizable amount of any money Rovers have made from their Cup run, and the match against their local rivals, has immediately flowed out of the Club to cover the payoffs...

At former prem champions and cup winners, its an embarrassing wage. Bet john Coleman's on that at least.cloughyclaret wrote:2 grand a week for another 9 months isn't too bad considering what he will be on after this.....

Coyle is a one trick pony. The trick was he got us in the premier and for that I will be eternally grateful.

Be fair, he's also pretty good at using a player's near-death experience for his own PR.Hazzyclaret1955 wrote:Coyle is a one trick pony. The trick was he got us in the premier and for that I will be eternally grateful.

Whatever. It would be worth it just to witness the apoplectic reaction of bstrds fans should they appoint another ex-dingle as their manager!nil_desperandum wrote:Unfortunately though, I suspect that Cotterill will probably do a decent job there. Embarrassing it might be, but given your Income this year £2,000 per week is the sort of figure your first team players should be earning next season. Something for the young lads currently in the academy to look forward to.

Bolton are at least as bad as us, and there's no way their players are on £2,000 a week.Royboyclaret wrote:"At former prem champions and cup winners, its an embarrassing wage. Bet john Coleman's on that at least."

Re: Coyles not that daft
One thing about the Venky's Saxoman.........no one can accuse them of lacking business acumen.
One look at the projected Income (now that the parachute payments have run dry) will ensure that they act responsibly in terms of wages, which will mean NO first team player offered a new contract on much more than £3k per week. Hardly the sort of salary to attract the calibre of player to get you out of the mire, but then again that's not our problem.

He's just a poor mans Sven G Eriksson; both are stealing a wage by being sh!t man managers.

Re: Coyles not that daft
2k a week lmao, good luck attracting a new manager !!!
Re: Coyle gone
I've said this before without Coyle and that promotion season this club would not be where it is now.
I know as much as anyone the feeling of betrayal when he left but that's in the past we should move on.
Talking all this nonsense about him is a little demeaning.
I feel as supporters of Burnley we should be above that.

2k a week? Where do I apply?

Re: Coyle gone
Tony you say he's the manager you despise most.
I was there that sunny day in May 2010 as I'm sure you were probably one of your best days as a Burnley supporter if not the best.
Without this manager you say you despise the most there would have been no day at Wembley.
As I've said before without Coyle this club would not be where it is now.
We all felt betrayel for what happened next but come on lets move on we are now supporters of a Premier League club.
