Another vote for the fantastic "Cooke" 2009-10 Premier League-return strip. Love a V-neck and the hooped socks ......come ON !!!!!
Excellent sense of tradition with this one too (has to be short-sleeved mind you).

Re: Your favourite Burnley kit?
The late 70s and 80s ones by Umbro and Spall.
It's my dream to own one of these in a size small or medium, and I'd pay serious money to get one.
Is there anybody out there.....!

This bloke has a serious collection, just hover over the shirt and it tells you the relevent season/s:

Over the years I've been collecting these (in size small) and have managed to grab the ones you mention (81-83; 83-87) from ebay. The earliest original I have is the umbro home kit (79-81).
I love the claret and blue home kit, but my personal is favourite is the blue away shirt with claret sides from the 88-89 season. I managed to get hold of one of these a few years back from the bloke on the market:

Re: Your favourite Burnley kit?
Chucky, I have been watching watching ebay for years but only two have come up, both of which I missed out on. One was withdrawn from sale I suspect to a messaged 'how much to sell it now offer'.
If ever you have a duplicate or want to sell one, you know where I am!
I have an original V shirt (but small boy size), Umbro home from late 80s, medium boys and away Spall with the two bands and 'bfc', again medium boys. None of which fit me as I am now 45
Agree, the guy on the link has a cracking selection. I even contacted Spall a couple of years back, but they couldn't help.

Re: Your favourite Burnley kit?
The first thing I do in a morning, every morning, is check ebay for new Burnley shirts - My missus thinks I'm mental
I picked up the 91-92 season blue away shirt and bright yellow third shirt (we wore this at Northampton when Conroy bagged a great goal) from this site a few months back:
https://classic11.com/collections/burnl ... all-shirts
They seem to have a regular turnover of shirts so I find it better than classicfootballshirts.com
Two of the shirts I mentioned in an earlier post fit me well, but the 83-87 shirt is really tight now
Will keep an eye out and if I see anything I will give you an FAO on here

I have them set up as ebay alerts. Will check out the other sites as well.
Cheers Chucky, I'm a 36" chest so maybe your 83-87 will fit me

Re: Your favourite Burnley kit?
I'm built like a bus ticket and honestly, it's small....more like a large boys.
I've got some match worn shirts as well - John Pender, John Francis, Warren Joyce but none come close to my George Oghani match worn shirt, it's my pride and joy.
I've got some match worn shorts and socks form the 76-81 yellow umbro away kit as well...these were on ebay ages ago and the seller claimed he would put the shirt on but, alas, it never surfaced

Re: Your favourite Burnley kit?
Is that classed as a ''short sleeve'' shirt? Did no one back then have shirts that fit properly!?Lord Beamish wrote:This one. Great player for us wearing it, too.
My favourite was the Claret and Yellow Adidas Away kit from around 1997.

Re: Your favourite Burnley kit?
Does anyone know where I could find a list of sorts that has all historical BFC kits with images ? Trying to get my hands on every kit since my year of birth (94) up to the current day.
Have a decent amount of them now but could do with being able to see which years I am missing etc.

The quintessential 'Endsleigh' sponsor
It matched the shirts perfectly

Brilliant ! Printed that off and will see how well I am doing tonight. The ones from the early 2000's seem very hard to come buy.Chuckypad wrote:Have a look at the link in post 55, they're all there up until 2011/2012
The year we had no sponsors I imagine will be popular with people. Never once seen that away kit on ebay etc.

Re: Your favourite Burnley kit?
Found my shirt from the 2000/2001 season with no shirt sponsor. Do like the look of this one... not quite as good as the 09/10 shirt though.

The only old short I have is the 02/03 Lanway dark blue away shirt. You're welcome to it if you haven't already got it.ClaretAndBlue94 wrote:Also if anyone would like to part with any of the older kits I am more than interested in buying them

Re: Your favourite Burnley kit?
If the people doing the retro kits ever get round (back?) to the early-80s yellow away kit with the claret-and-blue flashes on front of the shoulders, or the earlier yellow one with the claret-and-blue striped collar and cuffs, I'll be in there like swimwear.
Aside from that, the plain all-claret one from the early-70s. Although the all-blue away version is pretty sweet too...

Re: Your favourite Burnley kit?
Enola, I am sure that the yellow away with claret/blue collar was available as a retro kit through the club at one point, must have been made by someone likes Toffs. Just had a quick google, cannot see it anywhere though.
Re: Your favourite Burnley kit?
Looking at some of the photos, we've had some pretty horrific kits

Ipswich, the next home game after promotion in 2014. If memory serves correctly, we won 1-0 with a Kightly goal. I travelled over especially for the FA Cup exhibition in Townley Hall.Steve1956 wrote:This is a cracking shirt, prefer round neck collars to the ones will flappy collars, who did we wear this against?

Re: Your favourite Burnley kit?
That's why I said back, the flickr feed linked above have some original versions of them alongside more recent recreations. Ideally I'd want one of the more modern ones, they look to fit a little better and probably wouldn't come in that horrible 80s polyester that made you sweat like you're wearing a bin bag.Alanstevensonsgloves wrote:Enola, I am sure that the yellow away with claret/blue collar was available as a retro kit through the club at one point, must have been made by someone likes Toffs. Re: Your favourite Burnley kit?
Is my memory playing tricks on me. I seem to remember around the time of the big Blue V home shirt in the 70s. We had the yellow away shirt with the umbro diamonds down the sleeve. BUT,did the youth team have a RED version of the yellow one.? I know the 1st team and the reserves never wore it. But I remember you could buy little colour pictures of players. And I THINK there were pictures of youth team players wearing this red shirt. Am I losing it!?
