Parking at TSOL

Post by Burnleyareback2 » Sat Mar 18, 2017 7:04 am

Any recommendations?

Not bothered about the price but would like to be as close as possible with a quick get away.

Thanks

Avoid parking on the St Mary's multi story in the town centre. It takes ages to get off and traffic congestion is awful in the town centre and on the Wear Bridge.

Instead park on one of the industrial estates as you approach the ground on your right. Much easier for your departure.

Good luck.

I often use the football ground guide for parking advice.

I intend to use the park & ride from Sunderland Enterprise Park.

Parking used to be easy, about a 5 minute walk and easy to get away. Unfortunately they changed all those roads to permit only. You'll need to park at least a 10-15 minute walk away now.

I will be using park and ride which has a 5-10 min bus ride attached, but I don't think it will provide a quick getaway as there is quite a large Q when game is finished whenever I have driven past. You can park at the Queen Elizabeth bridge side of the enterprise Park I believe and wander down 1 straight road to ground but will be a good 10 min walk to get back to your Car as rejected as said.

We've found decent parking but never anywhere for a quick getaway.

If you dont mind a 15 min walk but wanna get away quick I always park on one of the side streets near Southwick police station (see Dean Tearrace). Straight onto the A19 via Wessington Way and beats all the traffic around the ground

Yeah, got a ticket a few years ago....! And we lost. Late 2004 or early 2005?

Ended up parking across the road from the fanzone in the car wash £4

The dream of a fast getaway ended with the 30mins to get out of the stand.

That was a nightmare. I parked for free in a good spot for a quick getaway. Only i got lost on the way back as I didnt walk past the takeaway which smelt disgustingly good on the way in. Which threw me.

then qhen i got near the car asked three people where the street I parked was. None of them had a clue. It was the next bloody street. They were either good liars or recluses!!!

Never got away from SSOL as quickly as we did yesterday. Just over 5 minute walk from the away end and for once the drive to the A19 was reasonably quick despite the road works. I think we were just lucky in getting back to the car quickly.

I drove through the city to get there, as I wanted to drive over the bridge. Circled the ground and then drove out. Found the Lookers Garage with road alongside. Cars all along there. However, that led into a new housing estae with free parking. Parked close to the exit pavement and walked 5 mins to ground. Away end nearest! Drove off going north towards Gatehead before getting back onto the road south. No hold ups. Home in Salisbury at 11.15. Stopped for pee and KFC on way back, so all good.
