Some further details:
You will need to download a form, print it and post it with your ticket. I'll ensure all the details are available on here after the game.

You have to keep your tickets because they will need the original sent to them. You will be able to send multiple tickets but there will need to be a form with each. You will not get your ticket back.claretdom wrote:Those who keep their stubs hopefully will be able to get them back with the cheque

I mean those who keep their stubs as part of their own collection. When you send it off as proof be nice if it can be returned with the cheque.

It won't - if you need to keep your ticket you won't be able to claim.claretdom wrote:I mean those who keep their stubs as part of their own collection. When you send it off as proof be nice if it can be returned with the cheque.

Re: ARTICLE: Twenty’s Plenty for Clarets at Everton
Just learned that the intention was for clubs to sell these tickets at the reduced price and each club then claim the refund from Virgin Media. This would have prevented thousands of individuals having to post their tickets. However, some clubs refused to co-operate, Hull being one of them. Not only that, Hull, who are at Stoke, have opted to take a reduced allocation for that game so less of their fans can benefit.
Re: ARTICLE: Twenty’s Plenty for Clarets at Everton
Tony - Do Seniors and Juniors qualify for a similar refund?

Don't have details but I suspect it will be like Southampton where the reduction takes you to £20 so will be less for non-adults. I've no confirmation of that but will endeavor to find out.Leisure wrote:Tony - Do Seniors and Juniors qualify for a similar refund?
Re: ARTICLE: Twenty’s Plenty for Clarets at Everton
Cheers. Seniors are £21, so without some kind of refund they'd be paying more than Adults.ClaretTony wrote:Don't have details but I suspect it will be like Southampton where the reduction takes you to £20 so will be less for non-adults. I've no confirmation of that but will endeavor to find out.

It would be a great gesture if you could take your ticket into our club and receive the £10 and they send a courier van down with all 3k tickets in and get their money back. Save all the stamps.

Unfortunately, not all clubs would do it so they've had to do it this way. Couldn't agree with you more though and would have been even better to reduce it at point of sale.Quickenthetempo wrote:It would be a great gesture if you could take your ticket into our club and receive the £10 and they send a courier van down with all 3k tickets in and get their money back. Re: ARTICLE: Twenty’s Plenty for Clarets at Everton
Perhaps I'm missing something here?
I have two tickets here, one adult and one junior (for which I paid £30 and £16 respectively).
Both are identical with £30 printed on each as the price, the only difference is that the junior has two small portions added (for junior and senior) which will no doubt be removed on entry. I will then bring home two tickets exactly the same with £30 printed on each. Why can't I then claim the £10 on each?

No sections of the tickets are removed as you enter the ground, so you will be left with both tickets exactly as they are now.Royboyclaret wrote:Perhaps I'm missing something here?

In which case Leisure I simply tear off the two smaller portions and end up with two identical tickets.

Re: ARTICLE: Twenty’s Plenty for Clarets at Everton
The adult tickets have 3 stubs (juniors, senior and adult) which indicates that it's an adult ticket. The concession tickets have either 1 stub if it's a junior ticket or 2 stubs if it's a senior. You cannot convert a concession ticket to an adult.Royboyclaret wrote:"You don't tear anything off - you will return home with your tickets exactly as they are now."

The point he is making is if the stubs are removed (which often are even when entering barcoded turnstiles) all tickets look identical.
For the hassle I wont bother claiming my tenner. In fact if anyone wants it they can donate the tenner to a charity of their choice. I will give you the ticket at the game.

In fact if all of us did that it would equate to £20 - £30k. Anyone for collecting stubs and arranging donations?
£20k would be massive to a local hospice or grassroots football.

Local charity donation opportunity
Just noticed on the article regarding tickets for Everton that all fans are eligible for a £10 refund from virgin media. http://www.uptheclarets.com/twentys-ple ... at-everton" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
However the process seems more hassle than its worth for the sake of a tenner.
What i have thought though is that someone (maybe from the site or the club or perhaps each of the supporters clubs running coaches) could collect the stubs from people from those who wish to donate their £10. (I suspect many like myself will think its more effort than its worth to claim a £10 cheque).
Said person / persons could then return all stubs in bulk to reclaim the £10s (granted it will need to be someone reliable and trustworthy).
We could then vote on a worthwhile local charity or charities to donate the amount to which at a rough guess could equate to up to £30k! Massive for a local charity.
Thinking local hospices, grassroots football, shelters etc.
Would be a very worthwhile effort from Clarets fans and of course another good news story about the club and the town.

Re: ARTICLE: Twenty’s Plenty for Clarets at Everton
The only trouble is it sends out the message that football supporters aren't bothered about the 20 is plenty campaign and are happy to pay the higher price.
The companies who offer this donation might think they may as well donate to a charity of their choice and get the publicity themselves.
Nice thoughts though.

Re: ARTICLE: Twenty’s Plenty for Clarets at Everton
True. But prices are capped at £30 anyway which is a fair price for 'the product'.
I would much prefer all tickets for £20 but am used to paying £20 and my Burnley season ticket is well priced so I wont miss £10

Supporters organisations are working hard to get fairer prices. But for the work of a lot of supporters organisations at clubs working alongside the FSF we we would still be paying some astronomical amounts at some of the big clubs. Virgin Media, through the FSF, are already keeping it at £20 for all away supporters at Southampton throughout the season. It's a well done to them and the FSF from me. If people don't want to claim, that's there choice, but a lot of people will want to do so.

Well my topic suggesting donations has been deleted. No idea why using a creative way to generate a big charity donation is against board rules. Sad.

Given its slightly off topic, what is the issue with having that as a separate thread?
These things would work much better with communication and reasoning.

Any update on this eg is there any reduction for concessions?
Re: ARTICLE: Twenty’s Plenty for Clarets at Everton
Looks like it's hard work to claim this! A separate downloaded form needed for each ticket and the applicant must have a bank account in their name in order to pay in the cheque.

I have been in touch with the club about mass collections for both charity and individuals who want to claim back. They are speaking to virgin. Looks like its a bit late in the day for either but hopefully they can get something out there ahead of the game!

Why are they being so awkward?
Would it not be easier to have a form that says "x" number of tickets enclosed and a cheque is attached for "x" amount.
Or even pay it direct into people's bank accounts perish the thought.

A cynic could claim its great publicity for a company which is being given a lot airtime nationally, to make it knowing a lot of fans won't bother for the £10. Imagine the praise they would get if you just got the £10 knocked off when buying.

I applaud the fsf and Virgin I just think that the club could refund the money a little easier but apologise for having an opinion.

Re: ARTICLE: Twenty’s Plenty for Clarets at Everton
The clubs are not involved - that's the point I've been trying to make. If the clubs had been prepared to reduce the price of the tickets at source and claim back the money from Virgin Media directly it would have been a lot easier. Some clubs were prepared to do this but others wouldn't which left it so individuals would have to sort our their own refunds. That is except Southampton. Their fans will get the reduction at source as will the away fans whose game is at Southampton.tybfc wrote:I just think that the club could refund the money a little easier
