It looks like it is a trial being paid for by his club's chairman with flights, lodgings, meals and a living allowance not being our concern. It will be part of us trying to increase our marketing profile in Singapore and southern Malaysia.
Let us hope the guy enjoys his time here and, hopefully, prove to be a decent prospect worth signing.

Reads more like a work experience placement or a foreign exchange program to me, rather than a trial. Doesn't look owt special from what I have seen on YouTube

I'd be amazed if anything came from this. Looks like a marketing venture to me.

Excellent news, bringing in a player from Asia in the next few months should be a priority.

If it makes big news in the far east and he reports back how great we are and how good a setup we have etc its a success.

I live walking distance (that term is relative here) from the new Tampines Rovers stadium, it looks a bit different to when we played there before, it's basically a shopping mall surrounding a small multi purpose pitch. Paul Fletcher would be proud.
The only time local football is of any interest here is in the Asian cup competitions to see if we beat Malaysia or the years a Singapore 11 joins the Malaysian league which usually ends up in Singapore being kicked out in a reanactment of the political events of 1965 and then the local league takes precedence until the next invite back. All quite predictable.
I'm sure the guy will have some interesting stories about what Jermaine Pennant got up to when he played for Tampines last year.
And if you ever visit - it's Tam Pan Eez, not Tam Pines or Tam Penis ( although during colonial times it was common to see signs written Tampenis).

Maybe Anthony Fairclough was in Singapore looking for a new shirt sponsorship deal. If it's, say Singapore Airlines, that would take a lot of space up on the shirt front. Then again it's a global brand and would spread the name of Burnley FC around Asia.
