Anybody got any recommendations for a pre match pint near Palace? arriving at Euston about 3.30pm. I've never been to Palace but have read that there is a spoons opposite Thornton Heath, has anybody been before?
thanks!

We like the Prince George at the opposite end of Thornton Heath High Street (much nearer to the ground than Spoons). Always a nice mix of Clarets and Palace.

If you get the train to Thornton Heath then there's a big wetherspoons across the road. Call in there for a couple then nearer kick off come out of the pub, turn right and head to the main junction (where Tesco is). Turn right again & head down the High Street. The stadium is nearby, there's grub options - Fast Eddies cafe is alright - and maybe a chance for another pint in the Prince George on the corner of Whitehorse Lane. If it's not too rammed.
It's currently warm & sunny down here, though it was the same yesterday then rained stair rods. Safe journey down.

Yep the Wetherspoons is a decent shout at Thornton Heath.
Getting a few beers in Herne Hill and Tulse before getting the 468 or 196 bus to the ground could be an option. Few nice pubs and microbreweries around there

The Spoons is big & a popular spot for away fans.
There's more pubs in south norwood (norwood junction) but the bouncers are clowns & only let home fans in by checking tickets.
And the couple of pubs near Selhurst station are home fans only & frequented by some of our div element. There is a Railway club by Selhurst, I think it's a quid on the door but cheap booze. Mixed fans.
