So some posters on here really are defending the Rangers 'fan' with it really being the fault of 'liberals'.
Wow.

Just because abuse isn't directly aimed at you, doesn't mean that you shouldn't denounce that kind of behaviour.
It's when people stand by and let it happen without saying anything that you have a slippery slope.

Let's say someone did that gesture to an Asian, is that racist or not?
I've filled the keep net now, I'm genuinely asking as I don't know what's allowed and what isn't these days, I have all sorts of Nick names and banter with the people I know, and it goes both ways.
You "genuinely" don't know whether it is ok to monkey gesture a black person ?
There is nothing genuine about you at all - you know full well that it's offensive.
And you have nick names between you and your mates which you are saying are a bit of banter. Just out of interest what's yours ?
Is it The Grand Wizard ?
Oh how you must sit around the camp fire and laugh.

Who is offended on behalf of Sinclair. You're spectacularly missing the point and it seems like it's a pointless endeavour attempting to explain it to you.

Fully agree. Sadly the people who often shout the loudest behind a keyboard are the ones that don't actually do anything about it. In fact are often scared to discuss it at length. Think it's offensive, heard it's offensive but don't actually have a clue why.
Everyone should be open to learn things, but when the race card is used so quickly ( not in this instance ) and often over every situation, the real events/problems get diluted.
A lot of people seem to know what other people are thinking and meaning with things they say. I never knew mind reading was actually real...

For someone who can't be bothered discussing the issue you seem to be getting rather worked up.
You talk about "non educated" remarks and post a hell of a lot trying to justify your stance....but basically take away all the tripe and all you seem to be saying is that you do not know why a black person - in this case Sinclair - should be offended by a monkey gesture.
It's just not believable that anyone "educated" would not know that.
If we put aside some of the really stupid things you are saying like the "cheeky monkey" comparison then you do seem articulate and presumably educated.
The fact that you are is even more disconcerting.
Why do you think that the fan should be banned if you don't think what he is doing is offensive ?
