A lovely little tale, family supporting Clarets, there must be many out there.

I used to go football with my Grandad.Unfortuneately he was a Bury supporter.I saw the light and have been going on the Turf for nearly 60 years.I am now that Grandad and go on with 3 of my Grandsons and working on the other 2.

I think I will remember 2009 and a Wembley win to reach the PL as my ultimate experience of the Clarets.

Lovely article I will show it my dad (believe you followed the clarets together in the 60's as Hassy lads).

Is your Dad Michael? If so, give him my regards.

First chance I've had to say thanks for sending the article in Frenchclaret.

So many of us are Burnley fans because it's been passed through the family - I first went with my dad and granddad (the cantankerous one that Lord Beamish knew) while my other granddad (who was James Hargreaves, although not the one whose name is on the stand) was also a supporter.

Lovely story. Quite wonderful.

My Dad passed in January 2010. On our first stint in the Premier League. He'd longed for us to be back in the top flight one day. He remembered the 50's and 60's and waxed lyrical about Pointer and Jimmy Mac etc. So when we were promoted in 2009. It made his life complete. It was almost as though the one thing he had lived on for had happened. He was diagnosed terminal in the summer of 2009 and died in January 2010. With his beloved Clarets back where they belonged. I take great comfort from him passing away knowing we DID IT!
