Yorkshire v Ireland
Yorkshire v Ireland
Making light work of the Irish. Need to chuck them some runs to make a game of it.
Would have been a better run out for the lads at Worcester.

Aye. Brezza would've chucked 'em a few, and that's for sure.

Always good to see English spinners in the wickets.
Rashid's decision to abandon Yorkshire in their must win game at the end of last season doesn't look to have done him any harm. Fair play to him.

He will soon be back to normal when playing a proper test playing country.

Re: Yorkshire v Ireland
He bowled very well against Lancs in the one day cup did Rashid. The Lancs batsmen were really struggling to pick his googly, this hasn't always been the case with Rashid and this could be something he has worked on that could potentially make him a world class leg spinner.

It's an ODI.claretdom wrote:He will soon be back to normal when playing a proper test playing country.

I thought Rashid has been one of England's better performers over the last couple of years in the shorter formats.claretdom wrote:It's Ireland

He is a better spin bowler than Ali certainly, that isn't saying much though.
Re: Yorkshire v Ireland
Probably says more that he is ranked the 14 best bowler in the world in ODIs. You are clearly very knowledgeable.claretdom wrote:He is a better spin bowler than Ali certainly, that isn't saying much though.

1 5 wicket haul in 10 tests
None in 41 ODI's
I would prefer those stats rather than rankings. You are clearly very patronising.

Re: Yorkshire v Ireland
A 5 for against Ireland... he is probably above Narine now then in the rankings.
Surely a top spinner would have been bought at the IPL ? Surely a top spinner wouldn't be hid in the field by different England captains. I get it you are a yorkshire fan and want to defend him, but he isn't that good. Still his CV now has todays feat added for his own pride.

I'm a Yorkshire fan and have criticised our players before, as I've complimented Lancs players. I assume that you're on a wind up and I shouldn't bother so more fool me.
To be purchased by a team in the IPL, you need to be in the actual auction. He was outstanding in the Big Bash for Adelaide.

Re: Yorkshire v Ireland
Perhaps. But you are setting quite a high bar there ClaretDom. Shane Warne only managed 1 ODI 5 wicket haul so it takes some doing with the restrictions in overs and field settings.claretdom wrote:1 5 wicket haul in 10 tests

IMO (humble) Rashid is currently progressing quite quickly now. Since the tour in Pakistan (Saudi) he's added more variety and more importantly he's disguising his googly a lot better.
He's beginning to forfill some of that previously overhyped potential now.

Seems to do better the further away from Andrew Gale he is.
Another good performance.

Re: Yorkshire v Ireland
Rashid 10 overs, 4 for 41 against Australia, a genuine wicket taker.
As Warne says difficult to understand his non selection 2 matches ago but now has more confidence to get over such things. Good for white ball cricket, not sure about 5 day Tests.

Why not bump this after the first game when dropped or the second game ? Knobbedfords wrote:YEH DOM TALK NAH

Re: Yorkshire v Ireland
He bowled very well in that game , fair play to him he seems to of stopped throwing the 1 full toss in every over he bowls, hard to build pressure as a bowler when the batter knows he's going to get a freebie .
Re: Yorkshire v Ireland
As shore said, he played well in the 2nd game. Rashid is the top ranked England bowler over the last year so essentially I could have bumped it everyday. Are you actually trying to knock a player for not being selected? Special!claretdom wrote:Why not bump this after the first game when dropped or the second game ? Knob
