The first ones not leeds liverpool is it? I saw a bird like that (thought it was a heron) yesterday morning at crack of dawn. Caught some fish too. Amazing what you can see round here at the right time.

It was on the River Aire, near Castleford. It was quite an urban area so surprised to see an Egret - but I suppose they'll be happy any where as long as there is food

Thanks Spades - there were 3 or 4 buzzing about - they're very quick. Used to see water voles often when I was in primary school in Burnley - there was a stream that ran past the school and there were lots in there. Not seen any for years either.

Lovely Spades. Haven;'t seen that many ducklings on the river here this year (The Dodder), but, I did spy an otter again when I was walking to work the other day. I think a weekend of river watching might be in order when I get back in a little while.
