Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Can't imagine Robertson would want to come and sit on the bench.
Love to have him but it's like the Trips/Walker situation. Robertson better going forward, Ward better defending. We know which SD prefers.

Frankly I wouldn't want to pay a lot of money for Robertson when we have ward anyway. No need to sign players for the sake of it.
Ward closing in on Player of the Season for me.

Closing in on player of the season maybe, but he's also closing in on being 32. Need to get someone younger into the squad for sure.

Take everything HITC report with a mine of salt but they're linking us with Jota (already linked above) and Tom Cairney:

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Exactly. Not sure why so many apparently find this so hard to grasp. This is when we should be looking to progress with younger players if they're available at a price we can afford and they're willing to sign for us. We simply can't afford to stand still, next season I suspect will be even harder.ClaretAndJew wrote:Closing in on player of the season maybe, but he's also closing in on being 32. Is it not possible for Robertson to play as well as Ward?
We know what our wide men are (Boyd/Arfield).
Certainly an upgrade there and cover for left back.

Yes, think he could well be a fit, or at least an option, further forward in the interim.TopCat wrote:Is it not possible for Robertson to play as well as Ward?

Manuel Benson - terrific & tricky little winger playing for Lierse @ the moment.
Young lad & full of promise, won't cost a lot, but Derby also rumored to have interest

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Is he from Barcelona ?
Re: Summer transfer rumours.
There's a few players from Hull that we could go for especially if they go down.
Robertson and Maguire for starters.
20m for the pair might just do it.
That would sort out our defence and provide cover for Ward.

I would add Clucas to the 2 other Hull players that I would like us to sign

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
There's a young lad at Ipswich that caught my eye over the weekend. Josh Emmanuel. The perfect build for the modern CH/FB, seems to read the game well for a young lad, bags of pace to burn.
Just a pity the season is over as I would like to have a longer look at him. To me if he has the intelligence he will have a good career ahead of him ?????

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
The positive for Ben is that as soon as MK goes, the world will start taking notice of him. He's gone under the radar by most of the media so far. His England ambitions will be greatly enhanced by MKs departure.
Sunderland, you can understand their interest in a good player, but he is way out of their league.

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
That perhaps very much depends on who Keane's replacement is. If Keane is as good as we all believe him to be, Mee may feel BD it more difficult next season.Colburn_Claret wrote:The positive for Ben is that as soon as MK goes, the world will start taking notice of him. I assume it will be Tarkowski but hope that we look to bring in at least one centre half that will be expecting a first team place.

Why, most people on here really rate Tark ?DCWat wrote:That perhaps very much depends on who Keane's replacement is. If Keane is as good as we all believe him to be, Mee may feel BD it more difficult next season.

I'd like to see Tark and Mee play together in the next two games if SD knows that Keane is going.

I understand what you're saying, but I think we only need a replacement for Tarks on the bench, and I think that will be SDs thoughts as well.DCWat wrote:That perhaps very much depends on who Keane's replacement is. If we are buying starters there are still other positions more urgent.

Dyche is loyal Tarks as been patient and knows what is expected. Tarks will be one of the main centre backs next season. Keane spent his first 6 months of his career with us developing his game and as cover for Shackell and Duff. It hasn't done him any harm

"can cover at left back and good enough to start at CB"
what utter muppets. Mee is good enough to start in any team from 8th down in the PL. I can't quite get over how delusional some "fans" are about their clubs. The one thing you can say about us is though we might stamp them left and right, we tend to have our feet on the ground.

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Not a rumour but I'd like to see us go and sign a few of these:
Forwards
Jay Rod, Shane Long, Abel Hernandez, Tammy Abraham, Britt Assombalonga
Midfield
Lazar Markovic, Adama Traore, Tom Cairney, Fabian Delph, Jack Cork
Defence
Callum Chambers, Phil Jagielka, Harry Maguire, Ben Gibson,
Forwards
Jay Rod, Shane Long, Abel Hernandez, Tammy Abraham, Britt Assombalonga
Midfield
Lazar Markovic, Adama Traore, Tom Cairney, Fabian Delph, Jack Cork
Defence
Callum Chambers, Phil Jagielka, Harry Maguire, Ben Gibson,

Adama Traore is just another Dane Richards - no thanks! Amazing how many football fans get over excited about pace when the actual ability is average at best. We do need pace...but Traore isn't the answer.Dewhurst1882 wrote:Not a rumour but I'd like to see us go and sign a few of these:

Delph is a good shout. Has the same qualitities as Marney who we need to look to replace but I'm not sure he'd fall into our wage bracket.

Out of your list I'd only be happy with 2 of each, not keen on the others. Abraham, Hernandez, Cairney, Delph, Maguire and GibsonDewhurst1882 wrote:Not a rumour but I'd like to see us go and sign a few of these:

I'd say all your suggestions are fairly realistic though and about right for the level we'll be able to afford.

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Brady on a reported £35k a week, I imagine Delph would have to take a pay cut to join a side that can offer him regular first team football. Can't see him being on more than £50k a week at the moment, so if say he could be a realistic target.Jakubs Tash wrote: Delph is a good shout. Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Delph would be an absolute coup and is probably out of our range. That being said I'd have him in a heartbeat, and former connections with Westwood, as well as our current England crop might help.
If Fulham don't go up I could easily see us getting Cairney, spent some time at Rovers so knows the area and we could offer him first team football you'd have thought.

Another shout for Britt Assombalonga, fast feet and a good first touch, still fast after injury and is only 24. Will be silly money just because it is and having to deal with Forest might put us off.

Delphi will be on £80k plus easily. He's at man city.
They employ people to warm up players cars when they leave training.

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
It's a world cup year, if Delph wants any chance of making squad he needs to leave City and wherever he goes it is very likely to require a significant pay cut.

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Delph is the sort of player I'd expected to be targeted by Newcastle, or Palace if they stay up. Perhaps even Everton. He's a really good player and he went to City at least partly because he's a top end player. He's not realistic for us I don't think.
The long term replacement for Marney as a box-to-box athletic midfielder arrived last summer - Jeff Hendrick. We do though need more depth in midfield this summer.

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
I would like to see
Robertson
Charlie Taylor
Jota
Cairney
These would just be to strengthen each area. Flanagan will go back and let Darikwa go, enough championship would take him. With Barton gone and Marney not gonna be ready for at least a few months. Boyd going.
Then dependent on who else leaves they would need replacing. Would not surprise us being in for Deeney at a reasonable price. The manager seems to think his passion is toxic. Can see him going for around 10 million if that. Fits into our style. Fingers crossed Hull go down as wouldnt mind 1 or 2 of the loan players Silva has brought in

I can see us signing one of Jota and Cairney, and one of Robertson and Taylor, but i don't see why we need both in either case.

Been linked with Marley Watkins on a free from Barnsley? 10 goals and 9 assists looks pretty decent. Maybe a boyd replacement if he's on his way?

Deeney would be a fantastic signing, would improve us massively, I think it's unlikely to happen though. He's on £50k a week till 2021, he's club captain. He's nearly 29 but they'll surely not be after letting him go cheap. He doesn't get on with Mazzari but with Watford's record with managers and their indifferent season it's pretty likely he'll be replaced. Every season I think Watford will go down but realistically there's more chance of us going down next season than them. Are we going to be able to put him on £50k a week for 4 seasons? At his age his transfer value is only going down, is it sensible for us to offer that? If we did would we be front of the queue?

Ward and Taylor fight for LB
Can Robertson play wide left to challenge Brady?
Left side of the team sorted lol
Cairney, Jota and JBG to battle out the right. Would be a nice option to have.
