This made me laugh and I ain't done much of that today.

Stay at the Turf but upgrade it soon and extend by 5000 and design it for more atmosphere. Atmosphere is good now but more will be intimidating for visitors.
Fan base will grow if we keep performing like this season

I know Burnley Wood isn't an affluent area, but to call the residents of that area penniless is a bit harsh.IanMcL wrote:We should never lose the view of the Penniless and Cricket from the Longside! Our ground is big enough for Burnley.

Look what you get for 200M EUR... a 70,000 capacity Atletico Madrid stadium. I'm sure with our £200M kitty we can improve Turf Moor a little.

Re: The board looking at a new stadium to replace Turf Moor
If we built a new stadium that wasn't necessarily easy to get to or with pubs nearby our crowds would start to drop. In this scenario I think we'd struggle to pull 20k even in the Premier League.
I'm all for a very slight increase in capacity if it comes from making Turf Moor more modern. 25k absolute maximum is good enough for us.

Who wants modernity? Wide comfortable wooden seats are old fashioned; narrow tacky plastic ones are modern.

The two new stands nearly sent us into admin a number of times....
For me a new CFS with an increase in capacity.
Due to the new offices and shop, I'm now unsure the BLS can now be extended, where would the supports be for it.

Drop the CFS and connect the new build to the James Hargreaves then you have an extra allocation in the corner, would say more than 25,000 capacity would be a waste, give the new stand to Home supporters and stick the away in the Bob Lord as them seats are the most uncomfortable I have ever been in.

The Turf is twice the size of Bournemouth's and doesn't always sell out as yet. Take your time.

A new kop style safe standing cricket field stand with superb acoustics (not too dissinilar to the way the noise cascades out now) would be class. Home fans only would be famous throughout the land. Around 7000 would be awesome in my opinion. Take capacity to around 25,000 / 26,000. Away fans in JML perhaps split in half?

Ha! Had not noticed that. Predictive text at its funny best and irritating worst! Apologies to the Pennines and the Penniless!Rosehill Claret wrote:I know Burnley Wood isn't an affluent area, but to call the residents of that area penniless is a bit harsh.
