Interesting. Seen TV programmes espousing the Finn education system. There are a few teachers on here so we'll see what they say.

Have you ever met an interesting or witty Finn though ?

We were doing this kind of thing over 20 years ago, pre computers/digital. Great for top ability range. Low ability struggled, though it improved their interactive skills. Thought it was a great idea. Not sure of controlling the mobile phone use though. Suppose in this day and age the use of TAs could assist here. Always good to try stuff out, it doesn't have to be all the time, every day!

When I look back, I realize that the education I received in the 60s and 70s did not and could not prepare me for the world in the 21st century. I acquired those skills as I went along. The Finnish way is exactly how we should be teaching - giving young people the skills to then equip themselves for whatever they need for their future.

Does it work with children who aren't interested? I realise that forcing children who aren't interested to learn is not easy anyway, but this sounds like it may give the uninterested plenty of time to do nothing.

We built a fence for some Finns never got so much as a glass of water on a very hot July day.We were calling them not for to burn when the lady of the house called us back.
"Come through I have something for you"
She had made a high spread of sweet and savoury Finnish food.She explained in Finland it was customary to reward the workers at the end of the job
're new method of teacher .How about getting kids to shut up and listen in lessons .

I think the new Burnley High School sell themselves on the fact that they use this, or a very similar concept for the majority of their teaching
