Thursday racing

Post by happyclaret17 » Wed May 31, 2017 11:20 pm

2 punts from left field today at big prices
2 40 baby gal 20/1
2 runs ago was given a very tender ride…well drawn and conditions suit.

7 50 LAVETTA 25/1
This ran at Newmarket on seasonal debut and was given an easy time by fanning.
He rides again today.

Quiet day but can have small bets on these 2 to win a good few quid if one clicks.

Had an each way on Ghost Serge 1.40 Lingfield, although drifting a bit this morning.

So, this weeks PGA golf event bets. Last weeks picks I did well on making good profit after a few quieter weeks. Pre play bets landed Morgan Hoffman 6/1 with a top 20. Of the win picks I took in-play I got Kisner at around 15/1 during round 3… also with the BMW I struck lucky with Noren and got 75/1 after a poor 2nd round… he then shot a final round 62 to win... but I expected him to do better in the 3rd round. Didn’t see a 62 coming really.. and he was helped by finishing before the rain came for the rest of the field… Pleased with the pick in any case

The Memorial Tournament this week on PGA tour. This is a tough course seen as a US Open warm up - noted for unforgiving rough. Need to be accurate off the tee. I have the following notes
• Every winner has played the course at least twice before
• Every winner had recorded a top-ten finish earlier in the season
• Half of the winners had also won previously in the same season
• Only two of the 20 hadn't finished inside the top-four somewhere
• Driving distance used to be key but now accuracy off the tee is more crucial
• Par 5’s easier holes to score on

Stat focus: Driving accuracy (DA) + Par 4 Scoring (P4S)

So with that, form, course form and my golfer notes…. I go with this. I think an outsider can win so I try to catch this with some low stake win bets spread across those meeting the stats/trends at longer odds – plus some longer shot place bets. The value is to be had on Betfair rather than the regular bookies – it’s nearly double in some cases. All my picks are primarily tidy off the tee and have had form or results at some point this season

Also looking at the following outsiders pre or possible in play – imilar types trends
William McGIrt 160, Sean O'Hair 130, Steve Stricker 130, Lucas Glover 160, Emiliano Grillo 75

Really nice run 1st time out with an impressive cruising speed and picked up well. One to follow although tough to know what it beat. 9/1 but the 20p rule 4 a bit harmful.
