I quite like Milton Jones:

"Stuck in lift with Corbyn and Abbott. She can't work out what floor number, he won't press the button."

You simply don't get a degree at Cambridge without being brighter than average. The academic demands of simply getting a place there just about guarantee that she is no fool. (Unfortunately she is not demonstrating a high level of ability or education at present).

That's one of the two disasters of this whole campaign out of the way. Least she can't do any further damage. I wonder if the Tories will respond by getting rid of the other; Theresa!

Labour just need Corbyn, Rayner, Chakrabarti and Long bailey to follow and they would have a much better chance.

If she'd have been back benched sooner Labour would have had more of a fighting chance of success, she's perhaps the most useless shadow front bench MP in recent memory. The fact that Corbyn stuck with her so long is a black mark against his judgement ability.

"Serious long term condition" according to Barry Gardner.

Not sure there is a cure for utter incompetence though.

After her watching her performance on Sky I thought she was on drugs, I am not saying she was on illegal drugs but she definitely did not seem as though she new what was was happening or being said and I do think the people who put her in that position are the ones responsible for her, she is obviously not stupid as I believe she went to Cambridge, so definitely some physical/mental issue with her, hopefully all the bad press has not given her a mental breakdown.

Deplorable that some idiot would pretend to be Seumas Milne and then publish information about Abbott's health, which it appears is diabetes based on what she replied to the chap.

However, two things spring to mind.

One - Theresa May also has diabetes.
Two - it is equally deplorable of Corbyn to use her long term condition as an excuse for benching her, she says herself in the emails that diabetes would not have stopped her doing that interview. If Corbyn lies about that, what else is he lying about? Views on terrorism? Tax plans? Take your pick.

It is far, far too great a risk to take. No chance the British public will elect him tomorrow, however disillusioned people are.

for a little perspective. Yes, as noted above Theresa May also has diabetes, but I really dont have to point out that every person is different and is affected by their condition in different ways. Perhaps thats the real reason that Theresa May will not do a live debate either...?

EDIT - Without sounding like it's a witch hunt - perhaps Theresa May should not be considered the best individual for PM because of this issue. Who would decided if she could no longer cope? Would she admit it?

Holy **** that escalated quickly. From a harmless face-saving lie about why he's benching someone to his views on terrorism are a lie in about 2.3 seconds.

So he potential lies on something trivial like this, it means he is a great risk.

Yet Theresa May lied about having a general election, about nothing in the 'Dementia tax' changing, about policing, etc. Does that make her an even greater risk as she must be lying about everything else?

Of course not. Unfortunately all politicians lie. We can't do anything about it, but to use one lie to further a point is nothing more than hot air.

We can all make up our own minds on Corbyn.

One thing that is clear though is that honesty is ranked number one in the qualities people think he has. If he loses that perception, he is finished.

May changed her mind a few times (and no doubt lies about some things too). I don't think she lied about the election or social care, I think those were U-turns. Thats by the by though, the issue is that there is more risk about Corbyn's past and beliefs than May's. He has been on the extreme fringes for decades, and hasn't been in power. She has. We more or less know what we will get with her.

Abbott is meant to be one of his best mates, and the emails from her suggest her illness is being used as a cover up for a sacking. That's deplorable in any leadership role, especially this one.

Why was my thread and fatboy's thread padlocked earlier?

Were they really the most contentious Politics posts on here in the last five weeks..I don't think so.

I can take or leave the Politics stuff myself, but it passes time while we wait for the new football season.

Just as well the Politics threads were on here in recent weeks, or this forum would have seized up.

Check the number of views/clicks...thousands and thousands of them - someone is interested.

Not a single football thread should have been hindered by anything else that is posted on here - there is room for all sorts of posting, it is one of the strengths of this forum.

There really is a limit to how much discussion we can have on here about Burnley FC transfer speculation, and what SD'S next club might be.
- at this time of year there is inevitably less football chat...so there is room for other stuff.

So why was I padlocked? - read it, it's still there. I have been against censorship all my life, and that includes on here.

Pathetic moderating...I couldn't care less if you ban me.

Maybe it's that the top 10 threads are all political and could be kept to one thread. People only break off and start their own new threads when their view isn't being listened to or noticed.

Basically the same as during the season and they think their view deserves it's own thread.

I don't know, but if your reaction to not liking how the board is moderated, is to hijack every other thread to try and spoil it for everyone else, then perhaps a cooling off period would do you good?

Please try and be grown up, and reserve your whingeing for a single thread.

Illness cannot be helped.

Tory lies and campaign slogans that are just such a lie, they would be failed by the Advertising Standards folk, are what should be questioned.

Strong, stable, leadership.... three words that bear no resemblance to last month lady.

It is June. Banish the robot and vote for the party looking to help the ordinary people at long last.

Not true at all. I'll start a new thread if I think the subject matter is on enough of a tangent and worthy of discussion in its own right. Whether my view is listened to or not has nothing to do with it. And I imagine this is true of others.

Perhaps the reason for the political threads being the most dominant right now is because perhaps theres some big political event happening soon, and/or maybe there's not a whole lot of football to talk about.

How true. In 6 weeks' campaigning, May hasn't looked good at all, while Corbyn has looked quite impressive. If it wasn't that I remember the previous 34 years when Corbyn did nothing useful whatsoever, while May appeared quite competent as PM, I might think about changing my vote ...

Not really. But I think we do need to remember that if Corbyn wins, he has 59 months of desperate incompetence in the House of Commons before he can have his next month of campaigning.

Perhaps we should look at the recent past rather than 34 years ago. T May's record in the Home Office?, Statements about being a remainer before suddenly becoming a leaver?, speeches(lies) about no early election?, fag packet policy on dementia charges?, fox hunting backing?, police numbers reduced?, backing fracking? grammar school backing, refusal to publish reports on air quality?, refusal to publish Saudi Arabia links to terrorism, trying to go back on Leveson..... Brush it all under the carpet and pretend everything is strong and stable? I think not, she's a sham !
