Your favourite Northern Soul record?
You're only allowed one choice. Mine is
If that's what you wanted - Frank Beverly and The Butlers
Great beat, great lead vocal, great lyrics (listen to them)

Re: Your favourite Northern Soul record?
There was something going round the internet the other week about finding your northern soul name. You take your grandmother's first name, the town you were born in, AND THE first car you drove.
So for example Jane Prescot and the Capris, or Edna Padiham and the Allegros

These threads are great for us Northern Soul fans, filled with great memories, great tunes and great videos.
I've just ordered tickets for the Soul night at KGH later this year and The Marveletts are playing as well.

Lou Johnson - Unsatisfied
Really hard choice, so many to choose from, but this one always seemed to sum up the Casino in a single track.
Sadly can't add a link as I'm on my mobile, if some kind soul would do the honours I'd be eternally grateful.

It's all the same Mel.
In fact Motown is more northern soul than northern soul is, due to Detroit being in the north of the U.S.

Basically just all very good music.
