Aaron Mooy to Huddersfield for £10 million
Seems Brighton & Southampton have been blown out by Huddersfield - Mooy signing for them for £10 million according to Nixon.
Re: Adrian Mooy to Huddersfield for £10 million
Any relation to Aaron?

A bargain for them, he was their main man last season. Drop in the ocean to secure your best player.

Very good signing. Stood out in the England Australia game where Heaton made his debut and has played very well for them this season.
City obviously had no intention of ever playing him but guess its worked out OK for all concerned.

Re: Aaron Mooy to Huddersfield for £10 million
Whilst he may be a good signing for them, he doesn't improve them. Essentially they have paid £10m to be exactly the same as they were when they got promoted.

But if they didn't spend that money they'd be worse than when promoted...

True, just commenting that it is a lot of money to be no better off than they already were.UpTheBeehole wrote:But if they didn't spend that money they'd be worse than when promoted...
I don't know what there budget for new players is, but £10m is surely a lot of money to a newly promoted club of their size?

Re: Aaron Mooy to Huddersfield for £10 million
It's only like renewing a player's contract.
Would you say the same if we managed to tie Keane down to another three years ?
I doubt it somehow.
PS That is a real bargain of a buy IMO.

With how much you get with promotion these days compared with the first time we went up. It's not that different to signing Fletcher for £3mGoobs wrote:True, just commenting that it is a lot of money to be no better off than they already were.

Re: Aaron Mooy to Huddersfield for £10 million
They've just got a windfall of 100 million! It's like us buying a player for 300k when we got (or didn't) the ITV digital money. We actually signed Blake for over a million which was a third of the tv income. Now THAT was a lot of money on one player.Goobs wrote:True, just commenting that it is a lot of money to be no better off than they already were.

They've already been gobbing off at us elsewhere.claretdom wrote:1 more signing and Huddersfield will be this seasons Middlesbrough on here
I just set them off by asking them why they've got such massive debts for a club their size and then sit back to watch them stamp their feet and say its owed to their owner so it isn't a debt....

In an already inflated market, I feel this is very good business. A terrific signing. The positive thing though: he won't improve Huddersfield, because he was already with them.

point them in the direction of ba$turds and Bolton. wealthy owners are temporary.Sidney1st wrote:They've already been gobbing off at us elsewhere.

I do, just like I've done with Brighton fans.minnieclaret wrote:point them in the direction of ba$turds and Bolton. wealthy owners are temporary.
Randomly a Brighton fan seemed disappointed when I didn't resort to homophobic comments about him.
Re: Aaron Mooy to Huddersfield for £10 million
They will be paying him 35k a week too apparently. Fair play to them

Re: Aaron Mooy to Huddersfield for £10 million
People bang on about transfer fees for newly promoted clubs. Without outside funding this will be the best time to afford new players as they will have a tiny wage bill.
3 years of premier league football and a 90m wage bill restricts any big money transfers.

Re: Aaron Mooy to Huddersfield for £10 million
£10m and £35k per week is definitely in our budget, and Mooy has attributes which we lack in midfield.
Disappointed if we didn't make enquiries.

Re: Aaron Mooy to Huddersfield for £10 million
I've seen a fair bit of this guy and he's a decent enough player but not PL standard in my view. Championship is about his level.
Re: Aaron Mooy to Huddersfield for £10 million
Absolute no-brainer for them at £10m.

Yes, it'll just take for them to buy Fernando Torres for some to start sh1tting it and blaming the board.

Didn't you mention him as a potential signing before he went to Huddersfield? If so, good shout.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Very good signing. Stood out in the England Australia game where Heaton made his debut and has played very well for them this season.

Sid, they are gobbing off at you and the other fans who troll banter sites looking for bites. Not Burnley fans.Sidney1st wrote:They've already been gobbing off at us elsewhere.

It's a tiny proportion of any fanbase.

Re: Aaron Mooy to Huddersfield for £10 million
I thought he looked a really good player for them last season, but he did sod all in the play off final.
The occasion might have got to him, and others, but it's a case of wait and see for me.

Fee is actually £8m with £2m as add-ons.

Now you should know after we signed Gray that the average football fan can't split add-ons apart from the initial feeUpTheBeehole wrote:Fee is actually £8m with £2m as add-ons.

Looked good for Hudds and I bet their fans are delighted. Looks incredibly comfortable on the ball.
Might be different in the premier league but I somehow doubt it.
