Samsung curved TV's ?

Has anyone got any experience with smaller curved TV's.

Currently have a wall mounted 40" flat HD TV in my conservatory and looking to upgrade. Biggest TV I can fit is a 43" and I'm looking at the Samsung 4K HDR UE43KU6670

Just wondering what the viewing angles and reflections are like on a curved TV before I dive in so any comments good or bad are welcome.

Just got rid of a 49" curved Samsung. Viewing angles were absolutely fine for me, I've heard other people have had problems with them though.

Upgraded to a Sony Bravia 55" 4K jobby. The PS4 Pro looks stunning on it.

I've got a 55" Samsung, no problems with viewing angles or reflection.

In terms of warranty I'd pick samsung any day of week by my own personal experience.

43" Samsung KS7500 if you can still fnd one. Alternatively last year's Sony 43XD80 - not curved but meant to have a better panel than this year's model (XE) - it's a VA panel not IPS, so better contrast / blacks but note viewing angles won't be as good as an IPS panel if that's important to you.

After 2 days - You won't know you're watching a curved TV 99% of the time.

If watching at an angle it's far better

It looks better when turned off too

The internet connectivity can be dodgy

Remote is neat but fiddly to use

Match with a curved sound bar and Bluetooth sub woofer for a neat tidy set up

I think there are only 4 companies that are worth buying from if you've got the money.

Sony, Samsung, LG and Panasonic in that order.

Fair enough, but they're still one of the best to manufacturers out there and I'm buying either Sony or Samsung for my next tv.

Having had Sony and Samsung in recent years, my experience is that Sony are streets ahead

A friend who is a film editor says the majority of TV programmes are filmed on Sony Kit and nearly all are edited using Sony kit or reference standards

He uses Sony Pro kit which is a bit above what most of us watch MOTD on!

LG OLED TVs are currently sweeping the awards board.

I know you can dig up awards for most top of the range telly's, but LG OLED seems to be the zeitgeist.

That's my next one, anyway.

A lot of companies (including Sony) still use a lot of LG panels in their TVs.

I would say you've chosen correctly.

OLED are without doubt the best TV's but they don't do a 43" model and I can get any make of TV except LG.

I use an IR pyramid to change Sky channels and my main TV is an LG plasma.

Ive got a LG 28" flat screen tv and it has the same crappy programmes and channels as any other tv.
So I might as well stick with it.

KU range isn't as good and has 3:2 pulldown judder, still though the KU66 should have a high contrast VA panel, just not as good as on the above mentioned tv's.

Viewing angle wise you're looking at 20 degrees off centre on a VA panel TV and more toward 35-40 on an IPS panel TV.

Curved itself is actually ever so slightly better for viewing angles but its such a small difference its not worth thinking about.

Panasonic also sell tv's at 40" that have VA panels without judder (unlike the Samsung KU) in the DX-600 and DX-700.

Did have LG flat and he decided on the change, must admit colour is far better and the sound amazing, looks good to, viewing not to great from angles at a distance but when sitting anywhere is good. He likes reading comparing things before selecting and am sure did his homework, Samsung was the best for the money so he says

He's right with the research a man after my own heart I analyse all the technical specification prior to purchase for the money you pay you will struggle to beat Samsung.

I've toyed with the idea of a curved TV but 'er indoors isn't keen.

Just bought a Samsung 55" QLED flat screen; a fantastic picture on HD and brilliant colours. Got SKY Q too, so I'm now all ready for the new season to start.

We thought we were posh! We had a dining table and 4 chairs, from my wife's 'bottom drawer' and a carpet in the lounge diner. Plus the 14" but sat on the floor because dining chairs are not relaxing!

Sound on the TVs are all great now. Why is a sound bar needed?

Sound isn't great on tv's at all. Its quite the opposite. Less space to put your speakers, smaller speakers = worse sound.

The new Sony A1 OLED is an interesting one, it emits sound from the actual screen of the tv.

Ideal viewing distance is 1m from the tv on a 55" UHD model. Twice as close vs FHD.

Take a look at the LG OLED Wallpaper TV. ULtra thin with a soundbar type box with the workings and speakers built in, amazing piece of kit but price isn't for the faint hearted.
