Meet up for Shamrock Rovers game

Post by ClaretTony » Mon Jul 10, 2017 1:35 pm

I did some research and spoke to Shamrock Rovers about potential meeting place ahead of the Shamrock Rovers game this Friday.

The two alternatives I've found:

1. The Old Mill Bar - approximately 20-25 mins walk from Tallaght Stadium. Mark from Shamrock described it as good.

2. The Maldron Hotel - across the road from Tallaght Stadium. It's a hotel with a big bar.

We were thinking of going to the Old Mill Bar for something to eat

Be aware, for those travelling in on the Luas from Dublin, it takes approximately 50 minutes

If it was up to me I would be in the Maldron , now not sure as I have to meet up with friends who are coming off the boat .
Have to say back into the city after the game as no real reason to hang around Tallaght to be honest .

Rather than have to start a new topic, would it not make sense to have it under this thread. I assume most fans will be in Dublin in the morning. Can fans wanting to head to one pub/area pre setting off for ground know where other Clarets are ?

No worries, I thought a thread was wanted to arrange for us all to meet up ahead of the game at Tallaght, similar to what we did at Bohs in 2008 and Cork in 2013.

Thanks for the thread. I can't make it (will be in Canada/USA), but my Dad is going, and was asking me for any pre-game plan. I've just passed on the Old Mill to him, so suspect he will be heading there now.

I've had the Bankers on Dame lane recommended. May head there as it's reasonably close to Trinity Uni where we're staying :D
Opens at 10.30 and does good food apparently.

Is John B not buying us a beer? Perhaps it cost him too much in Cork

You won't find any Irish bars in Dublin they are more up market than that    ;) You will be able to tell that when you pay for a pint.
