I kinda agree with Inchy with regarding people knocking the move. He's good enough to make the starting 11 - how can this not be good news. We need another though.

I can only assume you're thinking of player morale, but the other lineups I see, have Tarky on the bench. Taylor is better than Ward, so why wait?

Two things really stand out for me, 150 + prem appearances and also Vice captain of a team. This would indicate he'd fit well, has experience at this level and can lead, whats not to like?
Ok we might of moved on as a club from when he was last here, but I'd bet he's not the same player either, I bet he's developed as well. This could be a very astute signing.

How do we know that Taylor is better than Ward? I thought it was widely agreed that Ward was one of our players of the season?

I'd be very surprised if Ward didn't start the opening game.

Jota can play wide right, wide left or cam he plays out wide on the wing for Brentford so yes on the right in a 442

I live in West Yorkshire and I've friends who are Leeds fans and I've been to Elland road 3 times when he played 90 minutes. In my experience of watching him - he's better than Ward.

That's true and I think with Dyche he likes to make people work for their place. From the games I've seen Taylor, he's better, but I do get your point.

I know it's an opinion, I'm just asking how can you conclude that Taylor is better than Ward considering the levels that each have proven themselves at.

We are away at Chelsea on the opening day and I'd bet my bottom dollar that Ward, who hardly ever puts a foot wrong, starts at left back ahead of Taylor who is entirely untested at this level.

It's a really excellent acquisition if he signs.
I'm amazed there's any dissenters as my impression was that his spell with us was unanimously popular at the time and he's only gone on to better things.
It looked like he enjoyed his time with us at Burnley. I think he and Jay Rod got on like a house on fire. We should be pinching ourselves that we're attracting players like this. UTC.

I've seen Taylor play a number of times, although only on TV as I couldn't bear to watch a Leeds game in the company of the home support. He looks a good player, especially going forwards.

I'm not disputing that he'll dislodge Ward in time - that's why he's been brought in. But I highly doubt that he will start the opener in place of Ward and I think it would be a poor decision to do so.

I know what you're saying and I can agree with that. Like I said further up, we need to include how players think - their mind etc, so yeah I do agree with you - make Taylor work for his place and not just give it him. That's often how I see things anyway. If I was the manager, you can't make it easy for players. They have to work their ******** off to get their shirt.

Was a great loan signing for us in the Championship all those years back, and I remember the uproar on clarets mad when we couldn't bring him in but Southampton could.

Never heard much about him since, and my initial reaction was that he hasn't progressed much since. But seen posted that he's had over 150 prem apps, and is/was the vice captain at Swansea so that can only be good news. Can't deny I would have been more excited had we signed him back in 2011 than I am about signing him right now.. but still sounds like a decent signing.

Taylor - never played above Championship level while Ward has now played 140 Premier League games. I wouldn't dispute Taylor's potential but I would suspect he's some way to go yet to better Ward, certainly based on Ward's performances for us last season.
