That was a powerful programme.

I know the mother of a friend of the poor girl who got murdered. To say they were in shock was an understatement. Appalling crime.

A very disturbing programme, barely believable but unfortunately true. What nihilistic, pointless behaviour?

I can't help but think that it would be better for all if the two young men convicted of her murder were to never return into Society at large.

A tough watch and quite upsetting.

From memory, the 2 evil scumbags that were convicted of the murder received life with recommended minimum terms of 16 and 18 years. This means that they will both be released whilst they are still in their thirties in other words still relatively young men with most of their lives ahead of them. This just doesn't seem right and just to me. Some of the PC brigade may not agree but I believe the punishment should fit the crime. They robbed an innocent young girl of her life in the most callous and grotesque way just because she was different and no doubt better than them. Not to the mention her family and her poor boyfriend who could also of died.

I wouldn't say lock them up for life, but I think they should have been deprived of any freedom to enjoy life whilst relatively young. Thirty years would of been far more appropriate in my opinion.

Talking to Sophie's mum a few weeks ago she said 3 had been convicted. One of the murder and two of a lesser charge (I can't remember the exact charge). The two on the lesser charge are already out.

Hearing Sophie's mum speak about this left me shocked and stunned at both the mentality of the perpetrators and the way system works.

It was a harrowing sight that night. One I'll never ever forget. The brazen way which the offenders just walked off to the garage to clean their trainers speaks volumes about their character.

Since he was sentenced, the main perpetrator has apparently uploaded pictures on social media of himself in prison.
If true, it demonstrates the level of remorse he has. Zero.

It was a tough watch last night.

I seem to remember, at the time of the convictions, one of the senior detectives on the case, criticizing the mother of one of the perpetrators. He said that when her and her son were brought in for questioning, they were both laughing and joking in the interview room.

Absolute ****.

I went to high school with two of them. Scumbags. Herbert was a nasty piece of work. He was a bully. Always picking on all the younger kids on the school bus. Nobody dared look at him. Sentence should have been double.

One of the convicted was part of a gang that 'happy slapped' my brother on a bus shortly before this incident. He was asked to give character evidence for the prosecution.
