Bit of praise for Howe there. Ring the calendar.

I think it was laws in his interview who said he was drinking Orange juice but I wasn't there for clarification.

All I'm saying is I'm not bothered what they get up to once they have left the field, they can't help the team.

A quick whizz through the game and I can't see the bit I posted about so I'll withdraw my comment as I'm not sitting through it for 90 minutes!

A couple of things about that City game having just watched chunks of it again. Had the score not been the way it was, it would have been abandoned. The pitch was unplayable but imagine the furore if the ref had called it off.

Secondly, I got to the 110 about 90 seconds after the full time whistle had blown and was immediately met by McDonald's father who for some reason told me that Kev had been in at half time and he'd sent him packing back to the ground. About 20 seconds later McDonald himself arrived, but even then he was only drinking fruit juice. The stuff about the 110 at half time was conflated with the speed with which he arrived after the game, beating most fans back to the bar.

First of all, I think KevMac is an exceptional player and pleased he is doing well.
Next, I find it sad that players who have previously been cited as excellent for us, are suddenly terrible folk - inc Grezza who with a thousand plus appearances and exalted by every manager he played for... is now cast as a problem. I remain convinced that Laws and Howe could not manage our club. Those players were all big characters not teachers pets.

I would like to think that in the case of Alexander he was more dragged into it. I would imagine that playing at that level after so many at levels below that at his age that he felt he knew his body best. Laws would not want to have come across as having favourites so it will have been one rule for all. Alexander then would probably have disagreed as he at that age his training will probably have had to be tailored to him to enable him to get the maximum out of what was left of his career. If I am right was he 38 when he played in the prem for us, the first season in his career when he did. Can kind of understand if he wanted a program tailored to him as he would never have had to use so much energy on the pitch as he did that season at that age.

Absolutely devastated to find out our players didn't try after Coyle left, I feel like I've been butt raped... honestly:(

Now there was a holding midfielder we missed out on, no needs for Tarka if he'd stayed put.
This club did him no favours.

We've not really missed Kev McDonald in the years since we discarded him, have we? He's not played at any level even approaching ours since he left, has he?
I didn't think so.

He got pushed back two divisions and has done well to fight his way back.
A little like Tarka in being a languid player with a good set of skills but perhaps like Trevor Steven just lacking that bit of aggression which top players need,

Brian laws was a great player for us, But was on a hiding to nothing as manager after Judas left (scapegoat) He was a very respectable bloke,Shame on us as fans to put the blame on him.He tried is best,Which turned out not so good,But under the circumstances he had no chance.

Going back to original topic that price tag makes the Jack cork signing look a steal.

No, ablue. Not like Trevor Steven. Nothing at all like Trevor Steven. At least, not like the Trevor Steven who played 36 times for England and won the Championship in three countries (albeit one of them was Scotland) - are you thinking of a different Trevor Steven?

Good player is Kev McDonald, id have him back here In a flash. I don't care if he went to the pub at half time In a game 7 years ago nor is he the same player he was 7 years ago. Basing his current ability on his ability 7 years ago is as stupid as it gets.

I still have happy memories of the video of Burnley fans in the Arsenal club shop singing 'Who put the ball in the Arsenal net, super Kev Macdonald."

Trevor Steven was a far superior player to KM and Tarka in fact he was the best Burnley player I have ever seen, but he could and should have been a world beater but for the fact he lacked that little aggression and self belief.
He did have that beautifully relaxed style by which he deceived so many opponents, not quick in a straight line but by footwork thought and deceptive speed over short distances gave himself space and time to make defenders look fools.
