Grosicki

Post by ayrshireclaret83 » Fri Jul 21, 2017 10:39 am

Polish journalist on twitter apparently reporting that we have signed Grosicki.

Can't see it myself with the comments made about him last season but could be exactly what we need.

Doubt it but if true then that's one hell of a fire sale that Hull are having.... they'll be joining Blackburn in league one if they're not careful!

That page isn't a reliable page however it's claiming that the polish journalist is reporting it he does have something on grosicki but it's all in polish.

Think the main article is about him turning down a loan move to Germany but our badge is also in the top left of the corner of his screenshot of the newspaper article

I'd be very surprised if true, but him and ward/taylor down our left would be immense.

Where would Brady play? On the right?

No use having a strong presence out wide if the men in the middle can't finish it off. I'm happy Sam can do that, but Andre Gray? No chance. If we get some one like Grosicki we need aerial support for Sam, not a muscle bound none runner.

Either that or perhaps Grosicki/Brady fighting for their shirt to play left. Nowt wrong with strength in depth.

Hmmmm, not sure how credible this is....

If true though, great. Pace and played in the PL already. I realise he played much of his football for Hull on the left but everytime I have seen him for Poland or clips of him for previous clubs he has played on the right and looked a real threat on his natural side.

Let's take an unsubstantiated tweet and use it as an opportunity to criticise a very good Burnley footballer - I despair.

I'd welcome him.

Why do you despair? The thread is about the possibility of signing a pacy winger. It is perfectly valid to comment on what is needed to support a winger i.e. someone who can get on the end of his crosses. It follows then, that it is perfectly valid to then look at what we currently have and make a judgement as to whether that is good enough. You can agree or disagree with my opinion but at least make some effort to put forward a counter argument if you disagree.

Gray is muscle bound, he put on so much timber during the summer of 2016 that he lost pace as a result. He was largely ineffective against all but the poorer teams last season, as his goal return showed and there is nothing to suggest he will do any better this season. Certainly not if the supply is from out wide instead of through the channels where , I believe his main strength lies.

All the stats showed he was one of the fastest players in the PL. Look it up if you want.

A formation of 451 with Cork holding, Hendrick and Defour switching between being the pressing midfielder, Brady and Grosicki on the wings and Gray up front sounds more than promising!! Yes please.

http://www.przegladsportowy.pl/pilka-no ... 1,970.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Polish paper is basically linking him all over the place, we aren't mentioned other than his transfer fell through last time.
Kamil Grosicki suffocates in Hull City. He is irritated by the situation in the club. He rejected SC Freiburg's offer because he wants to return to the Premier League.

Hull City opened a supermarket in the summer and got rid of half the squad, nearly all the valuable players who fought last season in the top flight. At the camp in Portugal only 17 players are getting ready. Trainer Leonid Slucki announces that this is the end of the sale. Smoke curtain and courtesy signal sent to the angry supporters. Kamil Grosicki was in the team, but the Polish representative was unhappy with his situation. It is unlikely, despite the Russian trainer's words, that he will be in the Tigers' team. Especially because there are offers for him, and the skills beyond the Championship.

He denied the Bundesliga
Like the one from SC Freiburg. On Tuesday, agent Thomas Kroth brought down a specific offer from the German club, which Leicester City moved a few days ago Bartosz Kapustka. The 29-year-old winger was due to hit the sixth club of last season's Bundesliga on similar terms as "Kapi" - annual loan. Grosicki is known for not calculating it. The offer was good: one of the best salary in the team (but not higher than in Hull in The Championship), a club that will play in European cups. He, however, prefers to risk and wait for the fulfillment of the dream of playing the highest level in England.

Grosicki hit the Islands in winter from Stade Rennes. He realized that the Tigers would only fight for maintenance. The reinforcement, the arrival of the good trainer Marco Silvy plus high salary, was, however, tempting enough that the Pole decided to move. In addition, he fulfilled his dream of childhood. He had come to the dream tournament, which he had been a few steps ago the last summer, when the catastrophe, on the last straight, ended his transfer to Burnley.

In the Premier League remember
In half a year Grosik was able to impress. He played 15 matches and scored 5 assists. He was voted April Sky Sports Player of the Year. He played not only effectively but also effectively, even against the biggest clubs. He showed the qualities that make him one of the best and most needed players - speed, dynamics, dribbling, courage, commitment, good centering, unconventional game - it distinguishes him. He might have liked He left a good impression after himself. So many experts put him in the top eleven of the best players - Drogkowicz.

Grosicki did not rush into the deal with SC Freiburg, because the Poles representatives are primarily working in the English market. As we have learned, in recent days they have been discussing with Everton representatives. Grosicki is in the circle of interests of The Toffees. At the moment, the Liverpool club has other priorities - first it must buy a midfield defender and striker. "Then we'll see" - is Everton's message. The Polish winger is on the close list of Ronald Koeanan for a long time - even when he was in Southampton talked about the interest of the Saints.

The closest to him to Watford
O Kamil also asks several teams from the Premier League. The closest to him to Watford, where after the training season was his former boss Marco Silva. The Portuguese is always in contact with the agents of our midfielder and there is a lot of indication that he will reach for our squad, which he brought to England after all. Hull will want a lot of money for his player - the cost of the previous transfer plus the payment of his current salary, which is a total of about 10-11 million euros. Looking at Grosicki's age, it seems that only an English club can buy it for such an amount.

Cash should not be the biggest problem for Premier League clubs, however. The trouble with the players in England is time. So frequently dragging the transfer decision and finalizing the contracts, waiting for the last moment, exploring at the same time several options (Everton was not interested, now wonders), the final decision on the last day of the transfer window, which Grosicki has already found out on his own skin.

Poles are interested in a few clubs, but to change colors can only come until the end of August. As usual. After all, in winter to complete the transfer of the Pole to Hull needed an extended deadline. It is not like this football player wants to wait with the change of employer until the last moment. The market forces it.

Nixon has stated several times, albeit a couple of weeks ago, that we are looking at possible wingers... I would be surprised if Grosicki is on the list after the comments made about him in the past.

Would be slightly surprised if we wanted him, not only because of what happened last summer, but also because he appeared to me to be a bit short of end product when I saw him. Lots of really exciting, direct running, but not a lot by way of accurate crosses, passes or shots. His performance against us at the KC was a good example of that.

The other thing is that he definitely preferred cutting in on his right foot from the left. As others have noted, that's Brady's preferred side, and whilst it never hurts to have more than one really strong option in each position, I'd have thought it'd be better to have what might well be our two record signings lining up on their preferred sides at the same time, rather than having one out of position or on the bench.

I like Gudmundsson, and he's got lots of qualities, but (rather like Arfield) I think he's a yard of pace or a trick short of being a proper Premier League player. He's got a role to play with us to be sure, but I don't know whether that's as a regular first choice wide man.
