Being a 2nd or 3rd choice keeper sounds like heaven to me. Thousands of pounds a week without the pressure of the games.

Maybe no-one wanted to sign for Dyche, due to the evidence he wanted to leave for Palace in the summer, AblueLiar?

Not exactly at all - he's not keeping any young goalkeepers out, in fact very much the reverse. His signing has allowed us to get a younger goalkeeper out on loan for some first team football.boatshed bill wrote:Exactly.

Three threads invaded by the lying attention seeker. At least Saxo has entertainment value in his 'court jester' spot on the messageboard.

Re: ARTICLE: Goalkeeping cover arrives with signing of Adam Legzdins
If this means our younger keepers can get loaned out and also we save money to spend on a winger, centre back and striker for the first 11 great.
If have preferred someone better. But its a case of balancing risk for a third choice keeper. We have more pressing concerns.
That said I hope we dont see an injury or ban for Heaton. Even missing him for 2 or 3 games could be the difference between staying up.

He's been brought in to replace a goalkeeper who has retired so clearly is better than we already have in that position.boatshed bill wrote:What happened to the policy "only bring in better than we already have"?
I'd say Heaton - Pope - Legzdins is better than Heaton - Pope - vacancy

Re: ARTICLE: Goalkeeping cover arrives with signing of Adam Legzdins
It's not abc's views that make him a blight on this board (irritatingly pessimistic and invariably wrong though they are), it's his tendency to say the same thing over and over again, whether it's starting multiple threads or just repeating the same point on a single thread like this one. Is there nothing the mods can do about this kind of behaviour?

CT talked about banning him a while back - hopefully this finally tips it.

Only just seen this news. Now I know how CT feels when signings are announced the moment he's out
Anyway, I've heard of him (that's a start!) but can't claim to know much about him. He seems to be a bit of a career backup keeper which is no bad thing I guess. With Heaton and Pope already with us, we weren't going to be signing Courtois. Hopefully he's got enough about him to keep the other on their toes.

We have signed a back up keeper, who hopefully we won't need. On the basis that Heaton stays fit and/or Pope is able to step in/step up.ablueclaret wrote:We've signed a player for three years who won't be of great use even if we get relegated.
I am assuming you have home insurance? You hope never to use it, but need it nonetheless.
I think any team would struggle to find some up and coming young star or a keeper to fulfil the 'insurance' role.

Just watched his ClaretsPlayer interview. He spoke well - comes across as calm and considered like so many of Dyche's signings. He'll fit in well, I'm sure. I found it particularly interesting how he spoke of career ups and downs and that he admires players like Tom Heaton and Lee Grant. Sounds like he has a very good attitude.

Re: ARTICLE: Goalkeeping cover arrives with signing of Adam Legzdins
I really do not understand the bile some spout at every signing. The lad is being brought in to fight for a shirt. The man who is employed as a specialist Keeper coach, Billy Mercer is not only happy he's here, it sounds like he had a lot to do with bringing him here.
He may not have a glittering career thus far but the fact that he has come here can be viewed two ways - he's here for an easy life (as sooo many seem to think), or as a player who sees this as possibly his last good chance of becoming a premier keeper - so he's going to move heaven and hell to make an impact.
I wish him all the very best, I'll leave professional goalkeepers and professional goalkeeping coaches to judge him.

I'll never forget your constant sniping at Grant which reached new heights (or lows) on the day we won at Watford in 2011/12. Danny Drinkwater fired a shot WIDE in the first minute and you gave him 3 out of 10 in the ratings because you said he should have saved it.
Shame you chose to bring your nonsense back on a totally unrelated thread.

I must admit im happy building the squad up and hopefully improving our away record with players that have got the experience to grind out results . I would also like us to go and break the bank on 1 or 2 players that adds quality to the starting 11 . As previous posters have said there is still 3 weeks to go yet

Quite a bit of football league experience which is about as good as you could expect from a 3rd choice keeper. Great that it allows Mitchell out to experience a good level.

Re: ARTICLE: Goalkeeping cover arrives with signing of Adam Legzdins
ablueclaret......your posts on this thread are an embarrassment. You do realise that we have signed an experienced pro to be our THIRD CHOICE KEEPER yes ? And that to have had the career he has had he must have a very high level of professional competence ? And that experienced coaches, who have also exhibited very high levels of professional competence to have reached the positions they are now in, have evaluated his abilities ...yes ?
What do you do and when can we start a thread so we can all comment on your own level of ability ?
One of the most depressing aspects of this forum is that it gives buffoons who have never played, or achieved, anything at an elite level to slate those who have on the basis of their ability, and often with no real supporting evidence whatsoever.
