He wasn't going to see the pitch against Chelski this weekend, anyhow. It's going to be Vokes ploughing a lonely furrough, me thinks.

"Foreign investment". Is that why I'm allowed to give my "five cents worth" on this site?

Deal with It and get used to it or spend the rest of your football supporting life stood gazing into space with people thinking you're an idiot.

The formation and performance in the first 25 minutes against Celta Vigo was very, very encouraging.

And this is now key isn't it? What's done is done, but let's not have anyone at the club bemoaning "the market" for the next 3 weeks when we've just sold two players with less than a year to run on their contracts for the best part of £50m.Bordeauxclaret wrote: We certainly can't be complaining when other sides are expecting big bucks for the replacement.

I must say, Claret supporters are, for the most part, a very forgiving bunch. Good on 'ya.

Re: ARTICLE: Andre Gray departs after two successful years at Burnley
Hugely frustrating day.
Gray is a replaceable footballer. But we have the financial power to control the situation. We should not be in a position when Gray leaves when we do not have a replacement in the building. And I cannot fathom why we have allowed ourselves to be in that position. Why would we strengthen a relegation rival at our expense?
The onus on the club is now to get 3 major signings through the door by the end of August. Big job. Not impossible, but a big job.

We won't bank anything like £18m.scouseclaret wrote:As a finacial decision it's difficult to argue with it, but £18m in the bank won't keep us in the Premier League.
What bothers me is that all of the other teams likely to be fighting the drop next season are showing a lot more ambition than we are. Why are we selling one of our prized assets to Watford - a club of (in my opinion) inferior stature who we should be aiming to finish above next season (again)? Why are Watford prepared to pay the wages required to get Andre Gray (plus ans 18m fee) but we're not?

Did a job, briefly.
No real affinity to the club, and from 5 years ago being unable to trap a bag of cement in non league to not being able to trap a bag of cement at Anfield, albeit quicker.....and from dating a babe in the Black Country to dating a babe off the telly, he deserves that big move.
Tarky and Ben will sleep easy when they have a day out at Watford.
Goodbye, good luck and thanks for the goal at Bolton........
Andre who?

He played a massive part in our promotion, and if I remember rightly, was voted Player of the Season for the division!
Yes, he had limitations, but we should appreciate what he achieved during his time here.

You won't get any argument from me about how stupid he was for the tweets (albeit it was four years previously) but I wouldn't say he walked around with a face on any more than any of our other playersbfccrazy wrote:Walked around with a face on and waved his arms frustratingly and got banned for homophobic tweets?

But as you're so revered on this forum, and people hang on your every word, then I'm loath to disagree too much.
