Are Burnley in an upgrading or downgrading stage ?
Burnley have the knack to polish rough diamonds into sparkling ones . There are many instances to quote . The recent cases are the transfer of their prized asset to Everton and the recent (I hope it is not true) possible transfer of their striker to Watford .
These transfers cause headaches to thousand of Clarets fans . We wonder if there may be any replacements . Although we may accept that some players will come , adaptability will be time consuming .
In order to become mightier and a football force to reckon with , Burnley should acquire proven players to their squad . We have still some time and it is our earnest hope that they sign some reliable players .
We understand that Burnley are not in the red . They can afford to trod the winning track .

Stagnation with a downward trajectory, the Board feel happier in the Championship, How can we retain our yo-yo status without a relegation?

It must have gutted them that we accidentally stayed up last season.ablueclaret wrote:Stagnation with a downward trajectory, the Board feel happier in the Championship, How can we retain our yo-yo status without a relegation?

Why would the board be happier in the championship?
Any business in the world has the main purpose of making money so why would they be happier in a lower league with lower income?

You're a complete k**b! Please give it a rest until you're in a position to contribute something at least moderately positive!ablueclaret wrote:They felt bereaved.

Gray did not want to sign a new contract . He had only a couple of months to stay as mentioned in his contract . Burnley decided to sell for 18,5 million pounds .
The question that remains to be posed is whether the club could find a replacement in time .

Re: Are Burnley in an upgrading or downgrading stage ?
Burnley are a championship side masquerading as a prem team , they have had enough acquired knowledge about the top flight by now, yet they seem hell bent on ignoring all the signs and sticking their collective fingers in their ears to avoid the criticism.
Once, fair enough, bit of naivete is understandable, but to constantly start the seasons ill prepared squad wise is unforgiveable.
I know transfers are part of football, agents and greedy disloyal players with no feeling for the fans are widespread, kids buy the shirts with the names on, and behind the scenes the players are trying everything to force a move. Its crap.
Ok, 30 mill for keane is more money in the bank, but we lose out on one of our key components as a team.
We have very average strikers and then flog one three days before the first game. Even if we do replace, how much will the fee be and wages ?
A late starter totally unfamiliar with the set up, expecting to make his mark , just doesn't happen.

Relegation fodder now....
Re: Are Burnley in an upgrading or downgrading stage ?
Amidst all the drama queenery flooding the board from a sizeable minority of our fans, who either haven't watched how we have operated over the past few years or are very young and excitable, and maybe even a bit stupid, DaveManu asks a thought provoking question.
The answer is, of course, that we have been upgrading constantly, but to do that we need to deal cleverly. In the impressive upward trajectory there will be the odd dip but the trajectory remains upwards.
Even so Dave's question attracted a small collection of naysayers peddling their tiresome whimpering, sniping moans.
Either go and support Wovers or stay off Dave's threads because they are usually uplifting.
Thanks
