Complaints re: "The really frightening thing" thread

Post by ClaretTony » Thu Aug 10, 2017 9:30 am

Given there were a number of posters reported posts on the thread entitled "The really frightening thing," can I

1. Thank you for alerting me
2. Confirm that the thread has been deleted and the offensive poster has been removed from the board for 1 month. His posts will be monitored on his return and should there be any repetition, he will depart for much longer.

Again thanks.

Thanks for that.
A shocking post, that I was replying to when the thread deservedly got yanked.
- imo the forum is being dragged down by about 4/5 posters, I wish they would find something else to do with their time - he's the worst though.

OOH I wonder which one it was.

Was it the Blackburn (but my Grandad was a Burnley fan) Rovers poster, or the 13 year old Liverpool poster or was it the Captain Blackadder with two pencils up his nose and his underpants on his head Wiltshire poster?

I see.

Captain Blackadder was pretending to be mad to try and get out of being made into a colander by machine guns, I wonder what the reason is for the Wiltshire poster to pretend that he's mad?

Have to agree that this fantastic forum is being dragged down by the usual few, I suspect many users like myself often refrain from commenting as they can't be bothered with the stupid posts that follow , imo any abusive or offensive posters should be removed completely not just banned .

Then you hit the report button as has been done here and the mods will take the appropriate action.

It was a poorly veiled accusation of racism directed at the club from one of the chief doom-mongers.

Why... because we've sold two black players (two that this board / management team themselves signed)?

There were no direct accusations, it was just the tone of the post. It was basically just a very lame excuse to have a go, poorly conceived and badly worded. All fairly dull to be honest and probably just the straw that broke the camel's back. Nothing to see here.

The thing is, he starts threads as if he wants a discussion/debate but he has no idea how to do so. As I told him on another thread recently, he spends half the time complaining that young players don't get more of a chance at Burnley and then he complains that we didn't sign some kid to be our 3rd choice keeper. Such an odd fellow.

There's only so long you can troll a message board before you're found out by all the residents. He stopped getting the bites he so craved and became even more desperate for attention. As I've said before, the bloke has a personality disorder - we should probably pity him.

I feel for his wife who will be forced to spend more time stuck with the old creep on a tandem. I wonder if she knows about his double life?

Just chuck them on your foes list. You only see the stuff other people quote then. It's like an actual workin g version of Eli's post it notes.

For those who don't know how to do it just click on their name in a post and add foe. You won't see theirndetailing of the threads then.

Incessant repetition of the same point was his forte and his starting new threads soon got found out.

The bit that wound me up were the lies he began to concoct to draw attention to himself. Firstly his evidence that Dyche wanted to leave for palace then ,yesterday, that our best players want to leave. I can deal with court jesters like Saxo or KRBFC's hard line opinions but lying to get attention? We need differences of opinion, do we need liars?

I'm glad he's found his time out, I'm just surprised given his repeat offending that it's not permanent.

That's the problem - had no one reported it then it might not have been picked up. Replying and ignoring doesn't help.

I'm all for moderation of the board and the action that has been taken, it was rightly deserved. Yet I feel it's slightly double standards to have an open thread allowing ablueclaret to be openly branded and his sanctions discussed with a wider audience.

He was rightly censored and punished, to publicly celebrate that is wrong.

Not done to celebrate anything but to ensure those who reported the disgraceful thread to be fully aware that appropriate action was taken. That done it is best now to close the thread.
