he only scored approximately 7 goals last season, I dont see how he'd immediately score goals for us in the PL when he cant even score them consistently in the league below. i'd buy him and leave him on loan at Birmingham for at least the rest of this season.

If we could get him on a long contract 4 years+, and the fee is reasonable, then we should certainly be looking at this type of player, even as an insurance policy, if we can consolidate our premier league status, then he probably wouldn't feature much, but would still if scoring goals in the championship be a saleable asset, in the event of relegation we would have a player who knew championship football, and would be ready to potentially fire us back to the big time. Another contender for this role would Callum Robinson again dependent on fees/wages etc.

I don't want to become obsessive about youth like ABC, but we as a club have to be mindful that relegation is a realistic possibility at the start of every season, and try as much as possible to have a back-up plan, we will always be a selling club despite our current Premier League status, shown only this summer by the departures of Keane and Gray.

I agree we are a selling club and should be looking at our next Keane, Gray, Ings etc but buying players like Che Adams who have potential but aren't currently good enough is one way to relegation. We need a first 11 striker to replace Gray not a young kid who's unproven in the league below. I'd look at Adams as a player to buy now and leave at Birmingham for another year not a Gray replacement to play week in week out at PL level.

Agreed we need 2 strikers one up and coming talent we could loan out, hopefully the other a regular first team starter, which looks likely to be Shane Long, where this leaves Dan Agyei is anyone guess, this is part of the problem the development squad aren't developing, hence why we have to go into the market.

Yeah we cant afford to throw youngsters in though like the midtable sides can.

Agyei is still very young. Hes loads of time. Jay had 2 championship goals in 25 appearances for us at that age

Boakye scores again. Away to koln. 11 in 14 already this season.
