Yep. And it looks like there'll be 27 teams in the Championship next season.

Sunshine, beers, Burnley winning away at Chelsea on the opening day of our third season in four in the Premier League.

All whilst Blackburn Rovers sit third bottom of the third division.

Imagine saying that a decade ago.

No we need better defenders. Tarks may improve with games but he'd making too many mistakes at the moment. that midfield three started to wilt in the second half too. Good subs from Dyche to change the shape but Scotty struggled a bit - so for me it's a wide player and a centre half as well as a forward

There's a typo in the title, there should be a U, not an A, in champs.

First match of the season. Away to the reigning champions. Play them off the pitch first half.

Naughty Madge is proud to take a bow.

Having watched again on Sky and then MOTD (well you do, don't you!), it is clear that the referee actually had the match of his life! Hat's off to him in such a hostile environment and also that lino who gave the offside in that croded space.

Too true, Ian. His only mistake was not sending Luiz off.
When are they going to clamp down on players getting in the refs face?

Just noticed that we have 573 (when I press submit) posts on the first match thread of the season. Well done to those who kept the custard flow of information and those who input their support throughout the match and after.
Up the Clarets.
