Had a good season last season, very meh before that. Salary of €360k per year which is what £6k per week give or take. So we'd easily be able to afford his wage demands. Don't know much about him other than checking his stats.

He's not an out and out striker, so just going on his goals return isn't a fair measure. 5 minutes of research reveals he was the stand out player in a struggling Reims team before his move last summer.

Ok so on YouTube he looks fast, good control, scores penalties, powerful shots from 25 yards and looks confident when he's through 1 on 1, but it doesn't look like he can head the ball.

I wonder how much due diligence has been carried out ? How many times has he been physically watched and conversations held with those who really know him, on and off the pitch. Added to that how competitive and physically demanding is the French league ?
There's so much about this proposed signing that mirror the late in the day signing of Rouwen Hennings. £12 million is still a considerable outlay for us.

It's not that we don't play that game we just can't compete with the wages and packages that other PL clubs can offer and Sean Dyche has openly admitted as much.

Before Burnley showed any interest Brighton and Huddersfield were favourites to sign him anyway.

I know what you are saying, and agree. But there's no harm in having another player, and one with goal threat, to use in there sometimes.

Yeah I agree it is nice to have squad depth but the question is whether he is an upgrade on Vokes. I doubt a player of his ability would be happy on the bench of a bottom half PL side

I think this chap is more of an in the hole type player anyhow.

Possibly. I think he played a lot behind the striker last year as more of an attacking midfielder. And, yes, it would take a lot to replace Vokesy right now. 7 goals in 6 with a three month break in between!
