Yes. From memory Peyton saved the first. Second was scored but retaken due to encroaching and third hit the post and went wide.Royboyclaret wrote:Dennis Tueart ?

If they were for City did Harry Thomson also have a game where he saved two pens against City, at the BeeHole End? I'm think I'm right as I missed the second having gone for a pit-stop.Herts Clarets wrote:Yes. From memory Peyton saved the first. I passed Colin Morris (with boots in hand I think) on the street walking to the home game against Manchester Excited in the relegation season of 1975-76.
He later started and as far as I was concerned was MoM he played on the wing where he put over cross after cross only for our forwards to waste the lot, lost 0-1 and we were relegated

I went to the home game v Birmingham the season we went down. My recollection is Ray Hankin flicked the ball up and the volleyed it in for the only goal. My unreliable brain also insists Trevor Francis was playing that day. Can anyone confirm my recollection?
Re: Team pic from over 40 years ago
I saw that team beat Chelsea in April '77. Chelsea were top of the league at the time (Div 2), and their supporters ran all over the place in the middle of Burnley before the game. Ian Brennan scored the winner. I was in the Cricket Field Stand, so far away. It was the last Burnley game I saw (we moved to Canada) until around Christmas '88 when I saw us beaten for the first time (1-3 against Wrexham, when an ex Claret scored a wonder goal).

The only one I couldn't name was Colin Morris, but I remember him starting against the Wombles. Everyone was saying who is he. I remember thinking when they went 1-0 up, well this will make a game of it.

Yes it was. She wasn't really in my "circle" since I was Waterfoot and she was one of the Bacup lot, but higher up the thread someone suggested Peyton was goalkeeping coach at Arsenal so he's still doing ok if that's true. Wonder if he's still with her?Steve1956 wrote:Alyson Crowther...? What ever happened to those two?

Remember when we took the league liner train to an away game she was pictured dancing by all the national newspapers she was pretty fit though.Dark Cloud wrote:Yes it was. Yep, that picture surfaced on here not too long ago actually. It featured in a match day programme at the time just after the trip. I wasn't on the train, but do remember spotting her dancing in the photo and realising who it was.Steve1956 wrote:Remember when we took the league liner train to an away game she was pictured dancing by all the national newspapers she was pretty fit though.

Ironically it's a bit like the '92 promotion shirt. Everyone agrees it's sh*t, but everyone remembers it!
