Brady

Post by Vegas Claret » Sat Aug 19, 2017 5:10 pm

There was a point in the second half when Dyche told Brady to play two touch. He does indeed keep hold of the ball too long and tries to over complicate. Nothing moves quicker than the ball and he needs to understand that. Put some good crosses in though :)

Very poor today but it's quite common for wingers to be brilliant one week and absolute crap the next.

Put in a few balls which should have ended up as assists with Vokes and Mee guilty. Apart from that, I'd agree, his general play was poor.

For me he's a bit too wasteful in possession. Maybe needs to give Defour a try at a free kick, like that one just in front of the penalty area.

That ball should have been squared to Vokes a la Glen Little at coventry years ago.

He's not consistent and seems to lose concentration. His passing and touch are sometimes really poor.

Defour moves quicker with the ball at his feet, all game he was carrying the ball well into their half unchallenged, changed direction leaving them wrongfooted then put the ball in the box ,Brady just needs to give the ball to him !

I've got no doubt that Brady will improve a lot, be a key player for us by the end of the season. Score a lot of free kicks too.

But overall a big improvement on last season

Gets on the ball in the opposition half more than any other player in our team and plays with an attacking intent so its no surprise that he appears to make more mistakes and give the ball away more than others

That said he can do better than he did today

I just don't believe some on here at times. From attending the match Beady and everyone else put a shift in today, the movement and passing was a pleasure to watch. It's not all about who is on the ball, Brady pulled their midfield all over the place today freeing Cork and Defore up with space to play the probing passes which was absolutely fantastic to see at times. The only poor part of that match was Kanu having Ben Mee in his pocket while he was on the pitch where as when Ben had Jay Rod to deal with Ben won every time. Great match and a pleasure to watch, we just couldn't hit the target, if was just one of those days unfortunately.

I thought Brady and Gudmunson were not wide enough until it was too late. We were far too deep.

Thought he had a reasonable game to be fair. Both Brady and JBG are playing far too deep though as per Dyches instructions.

I think it's important to remember that most wing players are quite inconsistent, save for the best in the world. We can apply this to Gudmundsson and Arfield as well as Boyd when he was here. Brady will improve as the season goes on and he's an important player to have on the pitch for his dead ball ability as well as his crossing.

Brady was crap today. However we did play some nice football at times, with a bit more cutting edge which I've no doubt Brady can be an integral part of we'll be fine i reckon.

Brady played well today and he was our most influential play maker , especially 1st half. He linked up well with Ward and was possibly his best game in a Burnley shirt

When I watched Robertson on MOTD, I remembered how much he would have electrified us, down the left. Brady a pale shadow by comparison.

Its great to see we finally have a winger like Brady who is great at making things happen. Do you think he will get better and better or are we going to have to get used to the fact as a forward thinking player he is bound to come up with frustratingly bad passes from time to time? Fantastic player but also frustrating at times, I think because he would be so much better if he cleaned that lack of concentration up! I really want his final ball to get better!

Brady will lose it more than Boyd for example. But thats because he will try more things.

I try not to get frustrated if he loses the ball as usually its when hes trying to beat a man with trickery.

This is exactly right. Thing is Brady usually produces in a match that moment of magic which unlocks a defence. We desperately require a couple more players in this mould.

Best player on the park for me tonight. Covered well defensively too.

Thats what you expect, but sometimes you see him produce a completely wayward pass even when he isn't under pressure. Perhaps if he didn't make the odd mistake he would still be playing for Man UTD.

He's that little bit of magic that can win you games or points, just like last night.

Due to watching on tv, I also noticed him starting at our trying to win the ball back, or make Rovers go backwards, which he did very successfully several times.

Already looks better than last season, which could get us a dozen points alone, just with his assists/goals.

I hate it when we play wingers on the wrong side. It means they have to cut in and play an in-swinging cross which we never score from.
