Re: Bitter Bitter Leeds....LMFAO
From Leeds point of view, they have as big a potential fanbase as Man United, and as big a potential worldwide support as Man United. Therefore they think they are as big as Man United; they find it as hard to imagine anyone leaving Leeds 1st team for Burnley as they would find it hard to imagine anyone leaving Man United's first team for Burnley.
Basically, they measure the size of Leeds United football club by counting all the trophies they would have won if they had been run like Man United. They count the trophies that they could have won, if they hadn't been too rubbish, as measures of how big a club they are.
Pathetic, really. Makes you weep. With laughter.

Amazing to think that all those years in the top flight means basically nothing unless you are in it NOW when the bumper payday is Level=Ridiculous per season.
Like other posters have pointed out on here, you only need to have had one or two run-ins with Leeds fans on previous occasions to end up hating them.

They're still bitter that we actually got money for Ian Moore.

I hope Hudders sign one of their players as well - that would lead to total meltdown.

Re: Bitter Bitter Leeds....LMFAO
Just read that article and a brief look at the comments.
Do they even need to wonder why they must be the most hated fans (well, 99% of them - I think I spotted 3 fans on there who understood the game) in the country.
To echo dandeclarets comment - we have to hope Wood will do the business for us but it does seem even sweater knowing we have taken their top goalscorer off them.

Re: Bitter Bitter Leeds....LMFAO
getting bored of posts about chris wood moving from leeds (M.O.T) to a bigger, premiership club. He's gone to burnley ffs, not exactly contenders for champs league or even anything slightly related to anything UEFA. if he wanted to win silverware he should have stayed at leeds, there's more chance of him lifting a trophy than at burnley who will find it hard to challenge for anything this season at least leeds may possibly stay in the play off places this season and finally get back to where we belong......

Re: Bitter Bitter Leeds....LMFAO
None bitter Leeds fan here, like a lot of fans I know, just a shame the kn0b-heads on messageboards seem to shout loudest
It's a shame Wood left as he's obviously scored a lot of goals for us BUT I do have a slight feeling in my gut that he wouldn't have done as well this season under the new manager and with the raft of new players that have come in. He'd still have bagged a decent amount I'm sure but the way we played last season was all set up for him to score and meant we didn't get many from anywhere else. Now he's gone it might change a bit as the playing style has already changed.
£15 million is a decent price for us too, I'd say a bit of a risk for Burnley though considering he's yet to prove himself in the top league, but like I said on here about Taylor if Dyche can bring him on a bit you'll have yourself a cracking player. Fingers crossed he doesn't suffer the curse of a lot of our ex-strikers (Becchio, McCormack, Beckford) who hardly set the world alight when they moved on to better things...

In the Yarkshire (sic) Evening Post they're running a poll for who should replace Chris Wood. Miles out in front is Troy Deeney, like really...

I've never liked Bridcutt for some reason, always sell him straight away on football manager, haha. Hopefully Ronaldo Viera and Kalvin Phillips will push on even more this season to make up for him going.Sidney1st wrote:Liam Bridcutt has just joined Forest, so the Leeds fans will be really happy today...

All of this almost makes up for Norman Hunter ending Frank Casper's career with a vicious tackle that was 5 yards out of bounds.

I'd like to think that Frank is having a nice little smirk over our transfer dealings with dirty leeds over the last few weeks.ontario claret wrote:All of this almost makes up for Norman Hunter ending Frank Casper's career with a vicious tackle that was 5 yards out of bounds.
One of the great players from the days of my yoof.
'That tackle' from Hunter was nothing short of criminal.
Hard man?
Sent to do 'job' by you know who.

I wonder when reality will set in at Elland Road. 13 years out of the PL and 3 of those in League 1.

Re: Bitter Bitter Leeds....LMFAO
I once met Frank personally. A wonderfully warm and caring human being. Norman Hunter? Barely above the rank of a common criminal like Saxoman.
