As we're on the subject, no point creating a new thread... and this is to everybody, who would you like to win?

I've backed McGregor corner to throw in the towel and fight to go over 6 rounds. That's the only reason why I'll be getting enthused by this fight!

I have 2 ways of thinking on this....
1. No way can McGregor win this boxing match with queensbury rules against a champion who has retired more champions than McGregor has had in months if nocjng training.
2. Mayweather comes out of retirement nothing to lose, throws the fight and picks up a massive cheque for promoting UFC in to stratosphere

I think it'll go past 6 rounds, but not because of the fight - because Mayweather will have eyed up a rematch at the exact same time as agreeing to fight him. Mayweather will make sure it's not an easy win. Why would he? He gets the public into wanting a rematch and he earns another X million.
For that reason, I think over 6 rounds is a sound bet.

McGregor has fast hands and a punch but Mayweather should know too much for him.
A punchers chance at best for McG.

Looking at your point (2) ... Mayweather's ego has no price. He wouldn't do that (imo) for anything. He wants to go down as the greatest boxer, ever. I don't think that has a price.

Yep I think he'll drag it out. It's in everyone's interest.

Warren Stowe would have more chance of beating Mayweather than Mcgregor, which would be weird because I've battered Warren several times, does that mean I'm harder than Floyd Mayweather?

It depends. Show the video footage, and we'll get back to you.

McGregor won't ever have been hit as hard as he will be tonight. The punches in boxing
are far harder than in MMA.
He will wonder what has hit him at times.

Mayweather isn't a big puncher. He's just extremely quick.

Id expect mayweather to win this fight without even breaking sweat . Mayweather retired years ago so he wont be the same as he use to be so who knows . Like i say still expect nothing more than a mayweather win

Hmm, not sure. McGregor is a cage fighter - there's every chance he'll have been hit a lot harder than what Mayweather will throw at him. Look at the Mayweather vs Ricky Hatton - he didn't win due to his punching power. He won because he's just so quick. Against McGregor I feel that is what will do it.

Maybe somebody on here will lend you the SportsMania account so you can watch it. I can't imagine they'll be that many on here that will.

What's the chance it ends in a draw, and the poor buggers have to do it all again for another £100 million plus each.
The Irish lad has done a great job with his theatrics, getting the punters into a frenzy.
It stinks of American wrestling, and the paying public are getting conned.

If McGregor survives the first 2 round, we know it's a fix and it's only being done for a rematch.

Another reason Floyd may drag the fight out, is that both fighters split the revenue from advertisements between rounds. I've backed Floyd to win rounds 5-8 and doubled it up with badou Jack to stop cleverly @15/1

a bookies field day, a non event created for gullible punters and idiots. this is the opposite of boxing.
a over hyped mouthy fake irishman versus a 40 year old man, cue loads of hysteria from sky tv for endlesss shouting matches and scripted slanging matches.....that said, Im daft enough to sit up and watch it.
mayweather win in 3rd round. but only because it was all agreed beforehand.

Johnny Nelson: 'This fight is being broadcast in over 250 countries!' Thats impressive Johnny, given that there are only 195! Not overhyped at all...

Well I was getting up for work at 7.00 anyway so I got up early to watch The Event. Twenty odd great links on Sportsmania btw.
