Burnley V crystal palace predictions . 5-0 I think for us.

Post by Wile E Coyote » Mon Sep 04, 2017 1:32 pm

A resounding 5-0 win for us, we have just collected 3 points away to chelsea and spurs who are half decent teams, this lot are in disarray at the moment.
Languishing in the relegation slot, and with managerial crisis looming, an ideal time to hammer them into oblivion just before they come good after they sack the manager.
Definately 3 points for us again.

Manager will be sacked the day before the game thus lifting the spirits of Dougie Freedman ( their new Director of Football) and the team. 1-1

4 points away!

Still be a tough game, they have pace in abundance but let's hope they are still being confused by their Manager.
I'll go for a sneaky win by the odd goal.

Let's not get into the realms of hubris.
We'll set up well and concentrate on the game and hopefully get a goal or two and not concede.
Zaha is probably their most dangerous player, been injured and probably a non-starter for the game but Sakho is back & might shore up their defence a bit.
I'd be well happy with the result we got at their place last season - and Tarks playing Benteke as well as he did in that match. (Did anybody ever get fingered/banned for the lighter/Tarks' head incident BTW?).

1-1 after them taking the lead via a scrappy set play and defending for their lives, until we score late on.

Just been reading a Sky article on them and De Boer.
They are a team, like us, who get their results when they have less of the ball.
On Sunday I expect them to have less of the ball but I still think 2-0 with Chris Wood getting his first home goal.

Palace to score first, very early, the Clarets rise to the challenge and whip four past them.
Cork, Mee, Hendrick (if fit) and "Defourth"................

1-2 Palace - This is made for an upset
.... and given Burnley's history for dropping our game to match lesser teams performances.... its almost the Burnley way to blow up our little bubble

"manager will be sacked the day before the game"

Burnley sacked Brian Miller on the morning of the Milk Cup tie against Tottenham in 1983 and Burnley came away from White Hart Lane with a resounding 4-1 victory.

Let's hope Frank De Boer is still in charge. ;)

We need as many points as possible, especially from games such as this whilst Palace are in disarray. I expect us to take advantage. I'll go 2-0, but it probably won't be easy.

Football is crazy. We've beat Chelsea, drew with Spurs but got beat from WBA when we deserved at least a point. I think we'll do well to get a point vs Palace.

2-1

We've got a very good offensive setup. Let's get 2 before the break and hang on for a win, but don't fall too far back because that's always our downfall when leading.

De Boer will still be in charge (IMO). So it depends - to an extent - whether the players want him to stay or not.
If they want rid, then we could see a fairly insipid performance, (like Leicester last season before Ranieri was eventually fired), but on the other hand they might rally to him, and put in their first show of the season.
Therefore: almost impossible to predict the outcome.

This is the sort of game that we rarely do well in. Just had a good result and we face a side on a very poor run where we're expected to get a victory. We hardly ever play well and win straight after an international break as well.

Having said all that though, the Palace chairman has all but told the players if they want rid of de Boer all they have to do is lose against us. A very hard game to predict but I really hope we can get a win.

Sahko is much better suited to a big Sam side than the way de boer is setting them up. He struggled at Liverpool because although he's good at defending what's in front of him, he's not the best 'footballer'. There's a lot of pressure on him too, he's nit played a huge amount of football and he's certainly not the answer to all their current problems. If anything I wouldn't be surprised to see us really press him.
That said, the managers had a bad start but he's not daft. He'll have to adapt to his squad and I suspect they'll turn up to our place with a different gameplan to the one they've started the season with. I'd go a 1-0 to the clarets, and be delighted if I'm right! I'll go one further and say it'll be a terrible Sahko mistake that gifts us the goal :-)

They say it's hard to make predictions, especially about the future...Burnley however, are the future, so it's indeed elementary to expect a relative comfortable 2-0 win..
