Pet hates
Pet hates
I hate getting to my seat on the plane and having somebody else's hand luggage above me and having to store mine about a mile further down the plane. Is there any sort of rule to this?

Re: Pet hates
When you JUST!! miss a phone call and call a person straight back and it seems that they have died.
People who try and tell you a funny story but can't help laughing at their own story which makes it last about 20 minutes - and when they're done it wasn't even funny.
On the plane theme - I've had it a few times where I have gotten to my seat and some random person is sat there just assuming I wasn't going to turn up after checking in ......
People who give their kids weird names.

I "brought" a twix from the shop for £1.39......How can these people grow up without knowing the difference....?!?!?
Why weren't they corrected.....it just really bugs me for some reason

Noise from people eating is a massive irritation. I can't help it. It's my equivalent of nails on a blackboard.
So that combined with smelly food on a commute. Urgh. It's bad enough I'm on the train for an hour every day, I do not need that.

Small talk/Idle chit chat. It grinds my gears when complete strangers, people you know in passing or even work colleagues strike up a conversation for no apparent reason in any environment. I am fine with a query such as asking directions or some such but when they just want to chat for the sake of it, it just winds me up no end.

Re: Pet hates
You could easily write a whole stand up show based on the bizarre and irrational behaviour of idiots in airports and on flights;
- Exceeding their weight limit and having to reshuffle all their underwear from one case to another in front of a large queue at check-in
- Rushing to board the plane quicker than everyone else and then either stuck on the plane for about 45 minutes longer than everyone else or in more amusing cases stuck at the back of the bus for 45 minutes and boarding the plane last
- Releasing seat belts immediately as soon as they hear the 'remove seat belt' noise - why?
- Turning their mobile phones on as soon as the plane touches the concrete
- Standing up and removing hand luggage from the overhead compartment as soon as the 'remove seat belt' noise is heard, then proceeding to stand, squashed like sardines in the aisle or in some cases crouching above their seat whilst everyone exits the plane in turn. Utterly utterly idiotic. I was on a flight not too long ago and somebody stood up to remove their case from the overhead compartment literally the second that the plane touched down. He, almost went arse over, I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
- Rushing past people to passport control only to end up about two places further ahead in the queue
- Showing utter disregard for the big yellow line around the baggage reclaim belt thus blocking everyone elses view of the belt
- Getting as close to the baggage reclaim 'reveal' as possible so that they have about 1.2 seconds to identify their luggage and remove from the belt
- Generally all behaviour at the baggage reclaim belt come to think of it. It's as if there is a burning pit at the end of the belt and any luggage not reclaimed from the belt at the first attempt will be lost forever.
I don't find all of the above irritating, usually just amusing, but thought I'd rant seeing as behaviour of people on planes was brought up.

People who sit in your seat because:
- They can't be bothered reading their ticket
- They can't be bothered finding their seat
- It's next to someone they know
- They are better seats
- They are too lazy to walk further to theirs
Then lie to you "sorry I didn't realise, you don't mind do you". Yes I do.
Clients who always have a friend who will do it cheaper, can you match it by doing less work. Then they aren't happy because the work they didn't want you to do means it isn't up to standard, and they have to still do the work but it now costs more.
John etc who rings up just to 'touch base', definitely not selling anything but wants to know intimate details about my energy/phone contract, vehicle fuel bills, telephone system. They are right though, they aren't selling me anything.

Re: Pet hates
People merging onto the motorway at 40mph when I'm driving behind them and there's a lorry hurtling down the inside lane.
Idiots slowing to a crawl to get a better look at a traffic incident on the opposite carriageway, thus causing tailback.
When you're travelling at exactly the speed limit on a country road and the moron behind you dangerously overtakes because 60mph just isn't fast enough.
The person in meetings at work that constantly takes notes because they think it makes them look keen as mustard, especially when you know they will never look at it again.
The office martyr that does the same job as you but regularly "works late", even though you know there's no reason for them to do so besides brown nosing. What makes it extra sad is they don't even get paid for it.
I could go on but I'll leave it at that.
