Is Tarks better than Keane.

Post by turfmoorboy » Mon Oct 02, 2017 6:41 pm

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts were following Tarks' brilliant displays of late. Certainly has filled Keanes boots and our back four are playing better than ever.

I think defenders will always do well in Dyche's system. That said, Tarky has really stepped up as many of us expected him to. Is he better than Michael Keane? Not yet. Ask that question again at the end of the season :)

Steady on. But, from the minute he first played for us, I thought he had every chance of being so. He needs time to prove his consistency but, yes, I think he will be seen as better.

The Daily Mirror match report gave Keane 5 and Tarkowski 8 so obviously Tarks is better. :D

Not yet. And I think the Cork signing in front of Mee and Tarks as been sensational business which helps.

Yes and Vokes is better than Wood, whist we're at it.

Keane plays in an unsettled at least, defence. Is Tarkowski better? I still think Mee brought out the best in Keane and is doing likewise with Tarks. Once Everton get that team settled, you'll see Keane flourish. Potentially we may have another gem but he is still learning for me.

Keane did nothing wrong to earn a 5 rating, including our goal.
As a defender I don't know what more he could have done, their problems are at the other end.
Tarks has to keep these performances going and make an International squad to be compared but he's made an incredible start and it's no wonder he's getting the plaudits.
Not bad for a midfielder.

Nearer to Blackburn than Burnley.

Bit early to start comparing the two. Keane is proven, Tarks has had an excellent start to the season. Let’s hope this continues but let’s not get carried away just yet.

The same paper that gave Brady a five. The mind boggles.

But in reply to the OP's question, no. He's a good player, and he's steady in possession, but he lacks that electrifying burst of pace that all great players have.

Tarks is good. Mee is good. Keane was good here for us. Tarks has the least experience at this level but is veey talented, physically strong and may turn out to be best of the three. Keane and Mee had top level early tuition, in their professional days, Tarks didn't. For me that makes him.a big success. Get him on a long contract now

After that pass in the second half the question should be, is Tarky better than Busquets?

Winks called up in place of Delph. Interesting who/if he replaces Jones.

He wasn't better than Keane last year but he may be by the end of this. Mee has been the catalyst to both players and we "won't know what we've got 'til its gone".

Indeed. For me, Mee should be given an extended contract. The man just encapsulates everything about our club and brings out the best in those around him.
