Exeter Nightlife - Stag Weekend
OK, so Exeter wouldn't be my choice of city to go on a stag weekend, but that's where I am heading tomorrow with some good friends of mine to celebrate one of them getting wed. We're all in our 40's and generally well behaved, and I dont think we'll be doing a "Stokesy" and brawling in the early hours of the morning, but I would like to know of any recommendations for us to frequent over the weekend if anyone has any good suggestions.
I haven't organised this, so the best man may already have some good ideas for us, but I felt it best to try and get some intel for us as well.
thanks all

Are you keen to do something active? I live in Exeter and the cycle path down to Exmouth is littered with pubs. It's a good afternoon out and you can hire bikes at the quay. Saturday weather wise looks best!
Plenty of eating and drinking options in town. It's a big student city so lively enough.

I don't think the bloke getting punched thought he would be doing a Stokesy either. Be careful, you never know when a sportsman will come out of the blue and start a fight

The locomotive pub behind Exeter central train station needs to be seen to be believed!! Also the angel is a good night and the big Wetherspoons isn't to bad.

Double Locks. Rough and ready but good ales and ciders.

I remember sitting on that low wall outside the cathedral having a few pints.
There's some pubs across the road, but can't remember their names, but it got quite busy.

There's a lot of pubs and clubs near they quay. Depends what you like I guess. For a later drink the Speakeasy is a bit different.

A few historic buildings went down. They are claiming that they will be rebuilt .........ElectroClaret wrote:Yeah, the Well House, bill.

Thanks all, glad it’s not a boring place then - I think we’re going go karting on Saturday afternoon, so that will be good fun.

If you fancy a drink in the afternoon at Exeter City's Centre spot then they usually have 3 ales and a cider on, Ales at £3.20. TVs for the pre-match stuff as well.
After Tuesday nights well deserved stuffing at the hands of Notts County I don't recommend you actually go to the game versus Morecambe

Not good. Didn’t happen. The father of the bride passed away last Friday, and the weekend was understandably cancelled. No plans for rearranging anything yet.South West Claret. wrote:So how did it go?
Still, thanks to all for the advice
