Happy Friday 13th!

Post by ClaretAndJew » Fri Oct 13, 2017 12:24 pm

Superstitious nonsense, of course, but always an interesting day none the less!

How has everyone been? I've been lurking, just not posting, some dips in mental health and the break down of a relationship have left me in a proverbial hole, but I'm on the mend. Therapy, honestly, is the best thing I could be doing right now.

Football is back, we're going to win 2-1.

Hope everyone that is going through any sort of trouble is on the mend or at least working on being better, I hope everyone else is well.

Hopefully I'll be back to a bit more posting and messaging (Oh no, you all sigh).

Peace :)

Glad to hear you're on the mend.

I've been well, trying to avoid the break down of a relationship and I think we're making progress on that front.
I'm looking forward to coming up for the game tomorrow with my kids.

Currently working on a task for my 2nd interview at McLaren, I've got to give a presentation ... :?

I don't go with the superstition stuff for this date though.

It's also 'No Bra Day'.

It was 3 years ago today (Monday 13th) that I had a heart attack following one of my 4/week vigorous swims at the local baths (whilst warming down).
After having early attention at the local hospital then bypass surgery, I have recovered very well & back to what passes as normal- hope you do too. (Though, I guess, the way to recovery is a lot more straightforward for physical injuries/illnesses). Good luck.

Didn't realize it was No Bra Day, they should have it in summer rather than autumn when coats are being worn.

No bra day?

If you don't hear from me later, the request didn't go down well with the women at work...

Good that you're on the right track C&J, and to be honest it's best you don't get too involved on here nowadays! I took a step back a bit ago and it's a lot less stessful! Ha.

I'm looking forward to the Turf tomorrow, and it'll be a good distraction from a few things which have cropped up recently, which have been a pain in the arse when put together. My car's been out of action for over a month (total ECU failure which is costing a decent chunk of my recent savings), work has been ridiculously busy with no end in sight, a lot of grief still from a tragic and unexpected death in the family, and a couple of other little stressors all adding up at times.

Yoga helps, and I've been back playing football again after my spell in hospital a while ago where it looked very unlikely whether I'd be able to run and kick a ball again. The lads I play with could argue that actually no, I still can't run or kick a ball properly!

Also made it over to a gig in Leeds on Wednesday, and saw a good 10+ mates and had a right good catch up with them. Neglected them all since moving back to Lancashire.

Today is a decent day; picking up my eldest daughter after work, and having a 5 month old at home always helps; she just keeps everyone entertained at all times. Pizza for tea is always the one too. Will be a good weekend.

I'm also getting into the spirit of no bra day, and have left my push-up at home. Sorry boys.

Some trivial facts: there is a Friday the 13th every year, but never more than three times in a single calendar year.
Of course on average it happens every seventh month, so less than twice a year.
