It's not just one though. Regardless, he's an excellent defender who has the occasional slip in him.

Everyone has an occasional slip in them..... strikers miss sitters, keepers get beat at their front post or drop a Bollock.
The reason I reckon Mee finds himself in the spotlight after yesterday is due to him being faultless in most games he plays, when he does drop one it's so unusual :D

For every rickett he makes he does 30 brave, intelligent or goal saving things.

Super player and one we’d struggle without, a rock.

The day players such as Ben, Tom and Sam no longer play for our great club is the day we slip back down into the Championship and perhaps even further.

You just cannot buy what these lads bring to the team.

I could honestly, happily, Kung Foo kick any knob head that knocks our boys.

He got away with it at Everton, wasn't as forrunate yesterday. I dont think its purely Mee, I seem to be forever seeing footballers slip in games these days.

Might just be me

Not as funny as Oldham's 90th minute winner

I'm sure I saw Huddersfield's goalkeeper pass the ball out to a Swansea attacker yesterday which, I think, resulted in Tammy Abraham scoring. He had been excellent previously this season. Similar sort of brain seizure to Ben's that was not typical of their general performances. It happens to all sorts of players every week - ever see a striker miss an open goal?

I just focus on the points he has saved us. I focus on the fact he is the quiet unsung hero who made a fellow centre half look as though he is worth thirty million and has nurtured a fellow centre half to play as though he is genuinely also worth thirty million. Cheers Ben.

Joey Barton was speaking about how England don’t pick players on form, on TalkSPORT yesterday. He stated Ben Mee and Tarkowski are both in form a head of other getting call ups. He the went on to state he felt Keane was currently in form and there isn’t much between Mee and Keane. He said Mee in his opinion was the better defender and Keane the better ball player. I thought this was about right.

He didn't make a rick yesterday though, the ball was fractionally out of his reach. It happens and those critical of his action need to take a long hard look at themselves.

If a defender made every interception then virtually every game would end up at 0-0.

He makes mistakes because he's an all action defender who goes for everything on instinct. Other defenders pick their battles more.

If he was about last night he'd have become very dizzy with all the roundhouses he'd have to do.

At this level it was a relatively easy clearance into the stand but he misread the flight and struggled to make a good connection on his wrong foot. In short, it was the kind of mistake which showed his weaknesses rather than the kind that everyone does at this level.

He is though superb for 89 minutes of every game, but lets not naively think there isn’t better out there, in the same way that Wood is proving better than Sam.

There's better out there than every player we have.

Not sure why you've included that bit.

And this is why Joey Barton is kicking about on the cesspit that is talksport and not picking the England team or even Padiham reserves for that matter

Or......

He's giving his opinion having been a professional footballer for many years, and having played with Mee and Keane his opinion may carry more weight than someone who constantly snipes on an internet message board.

You're right. Probably every single one of the Man City team would find a place in our line-up - though I'm not sure that John Stones is Then Man Who Never Makes A Mistake, so he couldn't replace Mee to the satisfaction of all on here.

To the people who think Mee is a hopeless case who needs replacing asap - this means you, mohammed - does he ever get credit for doing anything right? Or do you consider that he never does anything more than the basics that any competent defender does in his sleep?

The 18 month ban will have something to do with his non participation in football on the ground

Why the need to humour a handful of the usual helmets ?

We've conceded half a dozen goals in our first 8 games...less than half the total under Coyle, and our best defensive record since Adam were a lad.

Mee is possibly the most popular player at the club.

And rightly so...Move on.
