Graham Poll on Joe Hart penalty ..

Post by LordBob » Mon Oct 16, 2017 3:05 pm

Poll was talking on Talksport about video refs and they would have awarded us a pen on Saturday he also said that the way Hart rushes out is going to cost us if he plays next year in Russia.

I wonder how the game would have gone if we got the penalty.

Assuming we’d scored it we’d have been strong favourites to win.

Hart would have caught it with his trailing leg. The force of the shot, coupled with the deflection off Hart's leg, would have knocked to ball up to the halfway line. Antonio would have sent it looping over Nick Pope for 2-0.

Be careful what you wish for ;)

I was happy with 1-1, given the quality of their players (apart from Andy "Rambo" Carroll of course)

The fact that Hart repeatedly comes tearing off his line suggests he's out of position in the first place. And it's probably one of the reasons why Guardiola didn't want him at Man City because he sits too deep

Hart's reaction immediately after was a dead give away. He looked like he knew exactly what he had done & then once he realised he had got away with it he started giving Chris Wood stick!

Like most of his team mates on Saturday he was embarrassing

The Ref was weak. They were constantly in his face. The more they got away with it, the more they did it. Like you say... embarrassing !

Yeah, that's the one! And then of risk of getting a yellow, Dyche had to pull me off. :o

On replay it's a clear pen, but tbf to Saturday's ref there were a lot of Clarets fans pretty close to the action who really weren't sure, especially after the rather odd/slightly theatrical way in which Wood went down. I for one screamed penalty, but wasn't certain and wasn't incandescent when it was waved away.

I was on holiday in Italy a couple of weeks ago and was a game on the tele. One team scored a goal but they have Video Ref in Serie A and it was disallowed. The local raggazzi told me the ref can refer for goals and penalties. In this case there was an offside.

Charlie Austin played me in on goal at the Cricket Field end. I woke up before the ball crossed the line.

What was the final score

Ah, didn’t cross the line because a red balloon was blown onto the line and diverted the ball around the post.

Final score was 4-0 with Chris Pearce getting a 95th minute hat-trick
