Do we actually announce scores from the third tier?Saxoman wrote:Was never happy back in the day, at the tradition of our PA singling out the Burnley score at half time if you were losing. It striked me as the club being complicit in enjoying Burnley's misfortune, and in turn seemed a bit unprofessional. Do they do the same at turf moor for rovers scores?

Re: R*vers fans are not happy
Nope, I think they only showed the PL scores on the big screen at half time.
I don't recall the PA announcing any scores outside of the PL.
In all fairness Palace scoring AND winning was bigger news than Rovers at Oldham.

Rovers read out scores from all leagues as long as I've attended.

Things could've changed, you don't attend anymore you keep telling us.
Besides, now Rovers are no longer top of the Lancashire pile they may not be so willing to mention the other scores.

I can't recollect the last time that Bastar*ds score was announced at the Turf. A few times at away games but not at the Turf.We hardly sing No nay never either compared to a few seasons back. It's only us 40 year old plus who are laughing non stop inside.

Re: R*vers fans are not happy
A couple of months ago they were saying the owners had seen sense and were backing a good manager with the signings of Whittingham Dack and Samuel. They were going to walk this League One business.
Still a long way to go but where are we up to with Rovers fans now? Do they blame Mowbray or the Venkys?

Being in 6th place over the international break meant our press coverage went trough the roof. I got as much fun realising how much it would p1ss off the Shadsworth Horse Botherers as I did reading it. However, tonight is one of those wanting both teams to lose scenarios. Nahhh, cone on you Greens.

Last time Saxo bothered to support his team in person they were probably posting the half times alphabetically by hanging letters on the wall by the tunnel.

Re: R*vers fans are not happy
Perfect result tonight a defeat may have pushed Mowbray out,the bizarre thing is Rovers have 1/2 games in hand on the teams above them, if they win even one of those games they are in a play-off place, which is what most sensible observers thought was their likely finishing position,Mowbray is right they do not have a divine right to win games at League 1 level. If they do pot Mowbray will this effect any potential transfer budget in Jan.

From the Lancs Telegraph live match feed....
"Somehow, Ben Gladwin has managed to miss from two yards after the ball fell loose to him."
Two mins into injury time.
Still ne'er mind.
And now on the LT website, they're pleading for Ryan Nelsen in New Zealand to come back and be their saviour.
I'd rather fight the fu**ing sharks.

Re: R*vers fans are not happy
What is TM on it may well be they cannot afford another manager to pay off. Am I mis-remembering it pre-season TM was seen as the second coming by those now wanting his head on a spike.... they will never learn. THEY ARE NOT PREMIER CHAMPIONS any more they are back where they were pre-Wa*ker.... their natural level. They will challenge for promotion and in a good season may even get up, they will then bob around lower mid Championship with the occasional excitement of a chance at promotion.... and that is IF they start backing their managers.... of which there is no sign. It is time they realised they should be looking up at Preston with envious eyes rather than Burnley these days.

Re: R*vers fans are not happy
Here's one from the Plymouth thread:
in 13 league games this season, Plymouth have won just 1 game and lost 9 games.
You can get 1/2 on Rovers' win and I think the bookies have been mighty generous given Argyle's appalling record. That is a 50% return on your stake and it would take 30+ years to get that in the bank with current interest rates. Tonight is the night to get some early Christmas money.

I hope Mowbray goes. They're currently far too close to the play-offs for my liking. Do a Bowyer and get rid of him just as he steadies the ship please.
