As with many of us, I wasn't convinced with his perceived attitude last season but this time around, we seem to have the real deal.

Well done Steven, well done Sean

From day one Dyche wanted him in his team, even playing him wide midfield last season at times.

If you're not fit enough to play for Dyche at Burnley, you're not fit enough, it's as simple as that.

The honesty of the manager towards him has given him enough of something to work for.

We know he's a good footballer but his work rate for the team has been the most impressive thing this season.

They all need a pre season with Dyche. Well done Stevie.

I hear Kieron Trippier is still having flashbacks from his first 'Dyche Pre-season'

Cheers for that. It's great that it's struck a chord with SD! Sorry about that!

It’s a really crap generic unimaginative song. Try something like “are we not men, we are Defour’

Good interview from him there. What an incredible midfielder he is - I wonder how far he could have gone without his injury because he would walk into any midfield outside the top six at the moment.

Without his injuries he could've played for any number of bigger clubs.

I'm glad we've got him, I really wanted him to stay and succeed this season and he is now showing us how good he is.

Plus it's two fingers up to those on here who didn't think he'd stay or didn't understand why we'd signed him in the first place.

Great value for money and at 29 he's still got some miles left in him.

I love the man and I'm not afraid to say it. His attitude to get fit and fight for the shirt is great to see.

Great to see things work out, knew he had great potential to help the team onto the next level.
Did not want to leave after the first season didn't quite work out.
Credit to him & the gaffer for working things out.

Possibly the first successful continental transfer, at least for an outfield player?

I didn't think it was possible, but he has now even surpassed Mark Ford as my all time favourite midfielder.

I think you’re doing him a disservice.

He’d fit into the midfields of Liverpool and Arsenal based on what they’re currently serving up and his style would not look out of place at City.

Should be sang to this tune https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byQIPdHMpjc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And maybe a cheeky bit of line dancing to accompany it.

I really hope he gets one on his international team mate today Kevin De Bruyne. They will both be up for it. Not happy I can’t go today so watch it on some dodgy channel on my phone.

Not that keen on the song really. Shame we can't come up with something original instead of copying West Ham/Spurs.

Steve Defour,
Superstar,
He's the best bloody player on the pitch by far
